His current role is with the City & County’s Department of Planning and Permitting as a Senior Building Inspector. Vaughn’s driving motivation for serving on the KWON board is his desire to give back to the school community his daughter attended and whose mission he believes in.

Lani Moniz
lmoniz@kawaihonapcs.org Lillyann “Lani” Moniz is a Waiʻānae resident. She has been an educator with the Hawaiʻi Community Action Program (HCAP), Nānākuli site since 1986. Additionally she serves on the Nānākuli Hawaiian Homestead Association and HCAP Board. Lani returns to the KWON Governing Board to make a difference and support the public charter school’s mission to expand the learning that is relevant to the culture, families and education goals of the community.

Kalani Ka'awa-Flores
kkaawa-flores@kawaihonapcs.org Kalani Kaʻawa-Flores is a Kumu Hula from Nānākuli. He has been an instructor in the Community College system for more than 10 years, most recently as the Campus Culture and Place-Based Coordinator and the Title III Grant Program Project Director. Kalani contributes his professional skills in education, project management, planning and assessment and grant management as well as his cultural knowledge as a means to assist the board in meeting their goals and objectives and creating opportunities for growth.
