Opportunities 🧑🎓
Graduate assistantship: we accept applications for PhD/MS students in environmental engineering chemistry, water quality, and emerging contaminants. Experience with (one or more) the following areas is desired: toxicity and assessment of emerging contaminants, analytical (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, FTICR-MS), small molecule photochemistry/photophysics, oxidation process, water treatment, fate and transport, remediation, isolation and chemistry of organic matter. Opening positions will be posted ASAP in this section (vide infra). Interested students should contact Dr. Niu xizhi.niu@kaust.edu.sa.
PhD students in our group will have access to state-of-the-art analytical facilities available in the Niu Lab, UC Department of Chemistry, and from partner organizations. Additionally, we also encourage short-term exchange opportunities for graduate students to conduct research in a domestic or oversea institute.
Mar 2024 update: recruiting a PhD/MS student for Fall 2024 in fate and transport and/or environmental photochemistry; apply via UC Admission by Mar-31 2024.
Postdoctoral researchers:
Apr-2024: candidates interested in joining us as a postdoctoral research associate should inquire Dr. Niu with a recent CV and research interest.
Visiting scholars: interested prospective visiting scholars/students are encouraged to contact Dr. Niu for potential collaboration opportunities
Undergraduate Researchers: there are potential summer/fall Co-op opportunities, as well as undergraduate research assistantships, contact Dr. Niu for more for opportunities
