The Environmental Chemistry of Emerging Contaminants (EC2) group at the University of Cincinnati study the nexus of water quality-emerging contaminants-community exposure. We are particularly interested in the occurrence, fate, remediation, and environmental impact of novel emerging contaminants in the natural environment, along water treatment trains, and in industrial processing. We also investigate the chemistry of water treatment, environmental interfaces, and sunlight. We aim to timely inform the scientific community and the public on the environmental risks, treatability and health impacts of chemicals we consume.
