Katy Lions Scholarships

Working in partnership with the Katy Heritage Society, the Katy Lions are offering a $1000 scholarship. Katy was founded by hard working visionaries who settled wild prairie, opened businesses, and created opportunity. In the spirit of our founders this scholarship is open to anyone who is seeking education to provide for their family, advance in their career, learn a trade or pursue higher education.

Participants must be enrolled or be seeking enrollment at an accredited community college, college, university, business, vocational, continuing education program or technical school and must reside or work within the geographic boundaries of the Katy Independent School District.

While this scholarship is open to any age, it was distinctly created to provide an opportunity for adults or currently employed persons who wish to further their education. to advance their professional career or improve opportunities for those seeking to provide income to care for their families.

In partnership with the Transparent Closet at FCC, the Katy Lions are sponsoring a scholarship to a graduating Katy ISD zoned high school student who will attend a 2-or 4-year college or technical/vocational school in the 2023-2024 academic year. The award will be based solely on responses to the questions below, references and interview. Scholarships awarded will be between $500 - $1000.

Applicants are required to submit two letters of reference, one being from someone who can address your commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.
