2023-2024 Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Information
Students enrolled in AP courses are strongly encouraged, but not required, to participate in AP Exams.

AP Exams are scheduled for the weeks of May 6th – 10th and May 13th – 17th.
The campus will determine the most appropriate schedule to accommodate any exam conflicts.
Alternate exams are administered May 22nd – 24th for overlapping conflict exams determined by the campus.
Cost and Payment for AP Exams
$102 per AP Exam (includes a $4 Total Registration processing fee per exam).
$152 for AP Capstone Exams (includes a $6 Total Registration processing fee per exam).
AP testers may make a partial minimum payment of $40 per exam plus Total Registration fees by October 25, 2023, 10:59 pm.
Final balance for all exams is due by February 14, 2024.
Failure to pay in full will result in a canceled test.
Payments are submitted within Total Registration for ALL AP College Board exams at TotalRegistration.net/AP/440165
NOTE: Clicking ‘yes’ within College Board account does not mean a test is ordered.
The *only* way an AP test is ordered is if payment for the AP test has cleared within Total Registration.
Free/Reduced fee waivers – students who are enrolled and qualify for Free/Reduced lunch may apply for fee waivers during the exam registration process to reduce the cost of their exams. Students in special economic circumstances (Free and Reduced Lunch) MUST identify that need during Total Registration payment window by completing the appropriate forms:
His/her registration will be put on hold in Total Registration until the request for a fee waiver is verified.
$25 per exam fee for Free/Reduced lunch registration (plus Total Registration’s convenience fee).
$75 AP Capstone exam fee for Free/Reduced lunch registration (plus Total Registration’s convenience fee).
All requests for fee waivers must be made during the registration period for the exams to ensure proper arrangements are made for the student.
Registration Timeline
Fall Registration
Students who are enrolled in an AP class during the fall semester (for yearlong or fall semester only classes) and want to take the AP exam for that specific class MUST register during the fall registration timeline.
Registration & Payment begins on September 25, 2023, at 7:00 am and ends on October 25, 2023, at 10:59 pm.
October 25, 2023, at 10:59 PM - Deadline to submit minimum payment of $40 per AP exam.
This includes students attending Miller, approved homeschool and KVS students as well as summer KVS students.
Spring Registration
Students who are enrolled in a spring semester only AP class and want to take the AP exam for that specific class MUST register and submit payment to take AP exams by the deadline.
Registration & Payment for spring semester only classes begin on January 14, 2024, at 7:00 am and ends on February 14, 2024, at 10:59 PM.
February 14, 2024, at 10:59 PM -Deadline for full payment for all AP exams.
This includes Miller, approved homeschool, and KVS students.
There is no late registration for spring semester only classes.
Late Registration
Students who were enrolled in a full-year class or fall semester only AP class during the fall registration period but did not make the fall registration deadline may complete the "Late Registration (and payment)" during this time for an additional $40 late fee per exam.
Late registration and payment for full-year classes and fall semester only classes begin on January 16, 2024, at 7:00 am and end on February 14, 2024, at 10:59 pm.
All registration will end February 14, 2024, at 10:59 PM.
Other Information
Refunds
No Refunds will be given after the registration deadlines (November 15th, 2023, for full year and fall courses or February 14th, 2024, for spring courses) except in the following circumstances:
Grade 12: Extended deadline of April 12, 2024. Seniors who have been admitted to a college and who have documentation that the college will not accept their senior year AP exam scores for credit.
Check with your college or university before registering for an AP exam.
Submit, in writing, addressed to the attention of the campus AP Coordinator, the refund request and documentation to the Counseling Office by April 12, 2024, BEFORE 3 PM.
If accepted, refunds will be distributed in the amount of
$55 for an AP Exam
$105.00 for a Capstone Exam
Total Registration’s convenience fee and if making partial payment - are deducted.
Accommodations:
January 17, 2024 – deadline for students in need of testing accommodations to request.
504 and Special Education accommodations are not automatically applied to College Board Exams. Students must submit all paperwork to College Board for testing accommodations.

College Board response for approved accommodations must be submitted to the campus AP Coordinator no later than January 17, 2024, so that orders can be made for specific approved accommodation needs
Exam Day Procedures
1. All students report to PHS at 7:15 for morning exams and 11:15 for afternoon exams.
2. Students testing in the afternoon will be released to A lunch to eat before their exams.
3. Students who are testing in the AM and PM on the same day need to pack a lunch.
4. All students must have an ID for check in procedures.
5. Technology of ANY kind is NOT allowed in ANY testing room.
AP Homeschooled Students
Home-schooled student Information to register for the AP Exams
A home-schooled student, who is enrolled in 9th-12th grade, may make arrangements to take the assessment at his/her zoned high school.
Parents will need to contact the AP Coordinator, at the zoned high school campus, for registration requirements and possible costs.
The deadline to register with the AP Coordinator at the zoned high school, is Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 3:00 PM.
