Your college acceptance cannot be finalized until specific steps in SchooLinks are completed. This is because your counselor is not able to send your transcript or complete recommendation requests until you waive your FERPA rights in SchooLinks. Counselors will also not know what schools you need information sent to unless they are notified via the SchooLinks platform.

In order for counselors to see when and where to send information, SchooLinks needs to be synced with your outside application. If you're using Common App, you'll need to connect it to SchooLinks one time.

You should have a conversation with your teacher(s) about them writing a letter of recommendation on your behalf (learn more about asking for an LOR here). If they agree, you should give them at least 2-3 weeks to write it for you. They can only upload their recommendation via SchooLinks. To have the request sent to them via SchooLinks so they can send it to each college you choose, you will need to enter their name in SchooLinks. An email will be generated and sent to the teacher with the request and instructions on how to upload the PDF.
