KAP Summer Reading Lists
In Katy ISD, students who enroll in KAP or AP English courses in grades 6-12 are expected to read an appropriately challenging work of literary merit over the summer to create an initial common framework for course discussion and study.
The purpose for the program is to accommodate students who wish to participate in special and/or accelerated physical education activities that go above and beyond those normally scheduled in the school district.
Katy ISD offers Credit by Examination for acceleration at every grade level and subject area offered in accordance with the Texas State Board of Education rules. A student is allowed to advance one grade level or one course per subject per academic year.
