Friendly Li'l Spenders
Our strategy is to resist the frenzy of bidding on "banner" animals; to step up when the going gets tough. We are there when the bidding falls off, to help hold up the floor value for the remaining auction animals and barn sale projects.
Their Mission
Friendly Li'l Spenders was created in 2016 as a combined buyers group that joined Friends of Katy ISD and Li'l Spenders together. These two long-time buyers groups had similar values and goals: to not purchase 'banner' animals, but to wait patiently until the bidding started to wane. We then jump in and start our bidding, with the goal of keeping up the floor values for the remaining auction animals whenever possible, and also to buy as many barn sale projects as we can. Never do we want a project to go unsold, as every student deserves to be recognized for their hard work and effort and go home feeling they have accomplished what they set out to do. As the longest standing 501(c)3 non-profit buyers group associated with KLSR, with over 20 years of service to the Katy community, we continue to stand strong in support of all of the KISD students with this strategy of remaining until the very end each year.
