History

The department of cardiovascular medicine was established in 1935.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim was the first head of department.

Since then our department started to grow over the years and now we have more than one CCU, our cath lab and our cardiovascular imaging unit.

Accreditation

The Cardiology department Kasr Al Ainy , Cairo University has achieved

“Heart Failure Association (HFA), ESC Pre-accreditation”

as a Heart Failure Specialized Quality of Care Center on the 5th of May 2025.
