Malmö People’s kitchen (Folkets Kök) is a project from Fenix, MAU’s environmental association.
We have partnered with local charities, restaurants, supermarkets and others who donate food that would otherwise go to waste, so that our volunteers can gather and serve free meals to all who want them.
Donations from you and the generosity and participation of our community means
the People’s Kitchen will always be free and open to all.

Are you a local musician or band who would like an opportunity to showcase your skills? Shoot us a message and help us make our events lively and entertaining.
We know Malmö Students miss the loss of the Student Pub and wish for more student spaces. We want to help foster community by rebuilding student life. We also know that students struggle with the cost of living, and going out is more and more expensive. The Folkets Kök will be a free space to hang out with friends, meet new people, and enjoy food and music.
Fenix’s mission is to help people and the environment, and the People’s kitchen will help both! By saving food that would go to waste while reducing our meat intake we are tackling climate change, while having a good time.
Our events will take place in Välfärden kok & kaffe, a restaurant that will very kindly, lend us their space. It is only a less than 2 minute walk from both Niagara and Orkanen.
