In preparing for the worst days in our schools, advising school leaders on best-practice memorialization is a critical component of crisis response. School leaders are rarely formally trained to make these difficult decisions and often rely on the guidance of school mental health professionals when navigating them. The goal is to honor grief and emotions while minimizing the potential for additional harm. This session will provide best-practice recommendations for school psychologists and other professionals who are often tasked with leading school-based crisis response interventions.
