Here is what you will need to do to help the process run smoothly:
COMPLETE YOUR ONLINE PROCTORED EXAM
Your exam consists of 55 questions. The passing score is at least 70% and you have unlimited attempts at passing the exam.
Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission regulations require a proctored final exam for your course(s). You will need to arrange for the proctor, which is someone who will simply make sure you take the test without outside assistance. Your proctor must be a disinterested third party, not a relative or a friend. The proctoring process must be followed for each exam attempt.
If you are unable to secure a disinterested third party to proctor your final exam, Kaplan offers Virtual Classroom Proctoring for a fee. The fee is $29 per proctoring session. You are only allowed one attempt per session.
Virtual Classroom Proctoring Instructions for Beginning the Final Exam
1) Click here to enroll yourself in a proctoring session in Kaplans virtual classroom. You will receive a class confirmation email and an online access email. You will be asked to enter the virtual classroom via the LMS at least five minutes before your session is scheduled to begin. Late-arriving students may be subject to a cancellation/rescheduling fee.
2) You must have a microphone, speakers or a headset, and a video camera (webcam). The proctor must be able to see and hear you at all times (and vice versa).
3) You will be asked to scan your camera around your testing area so the proctor can confirm that you do not have any available exam aids (open books, additional monitors, etc.).
4) You will be asked to share your screen so the proctor can confirm that you do not have additional browser tabs open that might aid in your exam.
5) You must have a state-issued identification card (you will be asked to hold it up to your camera and show it to the proctor at the time of the exam so the proctor can confirm your identity).
6) You must use a computer or a laptop (no phones or tablets) and a reliable internet connection (a hard-wired connection -- rather than Wi-Fi -- is recommended to ensure the best possible connectivity).
7) You should use Google Chrome as your internet browser.
8) Please click here to review the technical specifications and to run a quick, 30-second system test to verify your connection and system configurations. If you have technical difficulties, please call our Technical Support Team at (800) 636-9517.
9) You are allowed unlimited exam attempts. Each attempt must be proctored. If you are unsuccessful on your first exam attempt, you must enroll in another virtual proctoring session for your second attempt.
10) After passing the exam, both you and the proctor must read the affirmation statements and check the “I affirm” checkboxes to complete the exam attempt.
11) You then must go back to the Dashboard and click the “Affidavit” icon. You must accept your affidavit to ensure your course is considered complete so we can process and release your completion certificate.
12) Your proctor should give you permission to exit the virtual classroom. Closing the virtual classroom browser window/tab will exit you from the virtual classroom.
ACCEPT YOUR AFFIDAVIT
Once you have completed your course material, you are required to accept an electronic affidavit as part of the completion of this course stating you have completed each assigned module of instruction. You will need to complete this step before your course is considered complete and you can access your certificate.
ACCESS YOUR COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
Once you complete all course content, pass your proctored exam, and accept your affidavit, you may access your completion certificate by clicking the “View Certificate” link on the Education page.

Understand the concepts. Know why the right answer is right and why the wrong answer is wrong.
Be sure to pay attention to the wording. Infering things into a question usually leads to an incorrect answer.
Determine your weak areas and create practice quizzes for those areas in the QBank.
If you score below 80%, go back and review the material.
If you score 80% or higher, you are ready to pass the State licensing exams!
Pearson VUE administers both the National and the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Exams.
National Exam - 80 questions, 120 minutes. Passing is 75% or better.
State Exam - 40 questions, 60 minutes. Passing is 75% or better.
Set up an account and schedule exams at Pearson VUE or call 833-551-0235.
Please review page 3 of the Candidate Handbook for exam scheduling procedures.
Pearson VUE offers two test options; at the testing center or by Remote Online Proctored Exam.
We recommend reviewing course materials for a few days after completion of the Exam Prep course before taking the Pearson VUE exams.
Don't cram the night before your scheduled exam. Get a good night's sleep and be well-rested for your exam.
Eat a meal or have a snack before the exam. You don't want to be hungry during your 4-hour exam window.
If you are taking the test at the testing center, arrive at the testing center early and make sure you have 2 forms of ID with you and a mask.
If you are taking the test by Remote Online Proctor, conduct a compatibility check on the machine that you will be taking your exam at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled exam.
Stop and take a quick water/bathroom break after your National exam. It will allow you to clear your head to be ready to take on the State portion of your exam.
