PASS YOUR PROCTORED EXAM
After all time has been accrued, your proctored final exam for this course will be available online. A score of 70% or higher is considered passing.
Per the Maryland Real Estate Commission statutes, you are required to pass a proctored final exam. You may find a disinterested third-party proctor, which Kaplan Real Estate Education defines as follows:
A person who verifies a student's identity and processes an affidavit testifying that the student received no outside assistance with the course or examination. A proctor must be 18 years of age or older and not have a financial or other conflict of interest with respect to a student's successful completion of the course or the examination. A proctor must not be a relative of the student, the student's supervisor at work, a person the student supervises at work, or a student who is completing the same course.
If you are unable to secure a disinterested third party to proctor your final exam, Kaplan offers Virtual Classroom Proctoring for a fee. The fee is $29 per proctoring session. You are only allowed one attempt per session.
Virtual Classroom Proctoring Instructions
1) Click here to enroll yourself in a proctoring session in Kaplan's virtual classroom. You will receive a class confirmation email and an online access email. You will be asked to enter the virtual classroom via the LMS at least five minutes before your session is scheduled to begin. Late-arriving students may be subject to a cancellation/rescheduling fee.
2) You must have a microphone, speakers or headset, and a video camera (webcam). The proctor must be able to see and hear you at all times (and vice versa).
3) You will be asked to scan your camera around your testing area so the proctor can confirm that you do not have any available exam aids (open books, additional monitors, etc.).
4) You will be asked to share your screen so the proctor can confirm that you do not have additional browser tabs open that might aid in your exam.
5) You must have a state-issued identification card (you will be asked to hold it up to your camera and show it to the proctor at the time of the exam so the proctor can confirm your identity).
6) You must use a computer or a laptop (no phones or tablets) and a reliable internet connection (a hard-wired connection -- rather than Wi-Fi -- is recommended to ensure the best possible connectivity).
7) You should use Google Chrome as your internet browser.
8) Please click here to review the technical specifications and to run a quick, 30-second system test to verify your connection and system configurations. If you have technical difficulties, please call our Technical Support Team at (800) 636-9517.
9) You are allowed unlimited exam attempts. However, each attempt must be proctored. If you are unsuccessful on your first exam attempt, you must enroll in another VCP session for your subsequent exam attempt.
11) After passing the exam, both you and the proctor must read the affirmation statements and check the “I affirm” checkboxes to complete the exam attempt.
12) You then must go back to the Dashboard and click the “Affidavit” icon. You must accept your affidavit to ensure your course is considered complete and so we can process and release your completion certificate.
13) Your proctor should give you permission to exit the virtual classroom. Closing the virtual classroom browser window/tab will exit you from the virtual classroom.
Note: The chosen proctor is required to complete the proctor form within Kaplan's LMS prior to beginning your exam. In the proctor's presence you may click on the exam icon on your dashboard and the proctor form will appear.
Please be sure to provide an evaluation at the completion of the course content via the Feedback node in the course.

Please review page 8 of the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin for exam scheduling procedures.
We recommend reviewing course materials for a few days after completion of the course before taking the PSI exams.
Don't cram the night before your scheduled exam. Get a good night's sleep and be well-rested for your exam.
Eat a meal or have a snack before the exam. You don't want to be hungry during your 2-hour exam window.
Plan to arrive at the testing center early and make sure you have 2 forms of ID with you and a mask.
Stop and take a quick water/bathroom break after your National exam. It will allow you to clear your head to be ready to take on the State portion of your exam.
