The Kaplan Commitment promises support to pass your state exam on the first try. If you don't, we are committed to helping you at no extra cost. (Think of it as an insurance policy for your program.)
Click into the course in your LMS and watch the 3-minute video.
Return to your dashboard and take the one-question final exam (we promise you will pass).
You'll know it's complete when you see a green checkmark on the Course icon under “Required For Completion” on your Dashboard.
If you don’t see the green checkmark, the course is not yet complete.
Complete the course within 14 days of your enrollment to satisfy the first eligibility requirement.
Note: Only students who purchased a complete licensing with exam prep package are eligible for the Kaplan Commitment. If you purchased a single licensing course or exam prep-only package, you are not eligible for the Kaplan Commitment.
A copy of the applicant’s criminal history or Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) Report must be brought to the PSI testing center (not the Commission) prior to receiving a license.
You will need to request a GCIC report from your local police station or sheriff's office.
Make sure your SSN, Date of Birth, and County of Residence are accurately entered in your account profile with Kaplan.
This will enable timely reporting to GREC and allow you to proceed with scheduling your licensing exam.
You must complete all course modules.
You'll know it's complete when you see a green checkmark in every section of the Table of Contents.
If you don’t see the green checkmark, the course is not yet complete.
As you move through the course, be sure to attend the LEARN sessions.
These live sessions strengthen your understanding and allow you to ask instructors any questions you have.
Important: If you're inactive for 20 minutes, the course will time out, and you'll need to log back in.
You have 180 days (6 months) from your purchase date to complete everything. Start now. Don’t wait!
Drop into these classes anytime to stay on schedule with your studies.
Live LEARN sessions are instructor-led and help you master your course content. Attendance in these sessions is strongly recommended. Attend as many as you would like, at any time during your studies, to boost your content knowledge.
Access the session through Your Live Online Learning HUB (in your LMS).
Once inside the HUB, select the LEARN session you want to attend from the drop-down list on the top left.
Confirm the blue title bar contains the correct class.
Select Join to enter the live Zoom classroom.
This is a chance to connect with your instructor and classmates and get answers to any course-related questions.
Here is the calendar for the scheduled LEARN sessions.
Georgia requires your final exam to be proctored. Schedule your proctored exam at least 2 weeks in advance.
Things to know about the final:
You have 2 attempts at the Final Exam.
The exam is designed to be taken in one sitting; 20 minutes of inactivity will cause the exam to be graded and will be considered a valid attempt.
A score of 75% is considered passing.
If you fail the exam, you must make the same proctoring arrangements to retake your exam.
If you do not receive a passing score after two attempts, you will need to repeat the course prior to attempting the exam again.
You have three options to complete your proctored final exam.
You may use a Disinterested Third Party.
A proctor must be an unbiased third party who verifies the student’s identity and confirms that no outside help was given during the course or exam. The proctor must be at least 18 years old and cannot be a family member, someone with a financial interest in the student’s success, or a coworker who supervises or reports to the student.
You may find a proctor using the NCTA website. You can choose a location and schedule your exam with a proctor that offers online proctoring from the list on the NCTA website. Click the state of Georgia on the map to see available locations.
Use Kaplan's Virtual Classroom Proctoring.
The fee is $29 per proctoring session. You are only allowed one attempt per session.
What you’ll need:
A computer or laptop (no tablets or phones) with a Google Chrome browser
Webcam, microphone, and speakers or headset
A reliable internet connection (wired is best)
A valid photo ID (like a driver’s license)
How to take the proctored exam:
[Click here] to sign up for a virtual proctoring session.
Log in to the LMS and join your proctoring session at least 5 minutes early.
The proctor will:
Check your webcam and audio
Verify your ID
Ask to see your desk area and screen
You’ll take the exam with the proctor watching.
After finishing, both you and the proctor will click the “I affirm” box to confirm it’s complete.
The proctor will allow you to exit the virtual classroom.

After passing your exam:
Go back to your Dashboard.
Click the “Affidavit” icon and follow the instructions to accept it.
This step is required to officially complete your course.
Once you finish the course, pass the final exam, and accept the affidavit:
You will see a “View Certificate” on the right side of your dashboard.
Please print or save this certificate for future use.
Your State exam can be scheduled once you have your completion certificates from Kaplan. We recommend setting a date for your exam a few weeks out from when you finish your coursework.
Visit PSI.
When using PSI for the first time, you will be required to create a web account.
Be sure that your SSN, Date of Birth, and County of Residence are accurately entered in your account profile with Kaplan. This will enable timely reporting to GREC and allow you to proceed with scheduling your licensing exam.
The test requires authorization from the test sponsor (Kaplan). We will transfer a test eligibility/authorization record to the exam provider once you complete your course.
Now that your exam is scheduled, let's get prepared to pass the exam!
Review the GA Candidate Bulletin for an outline of what will be on your exam.

Your state exam will be taken with a third party. You should have scheduled an appointment and have the date on your calendar.
Pro-Tips:
Don't cram the night before your scheduled exam. Get a good night's sleep so you are well-rested on exam day.
Know where you are going and arrive at the testing center at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled testing time.
Bring a valid (not expired) photo ID.
Eat a meal or have a snack before the exam. You do not want to be hungry during your examination.
We want to hear from you! Please fill out this brief survey and let us know how you did.
After successfully passing the state exam, you can place your license on active or inactive status. Either status still requires payment of the appropriate licensing fee. Postlicense educational requirements apply to both active and inactive statuses.
Active Status: Brokers must affiliate with a firm as an associate broker. A Sponsoring Broker Statement Form signed by a broker to verify that you are to work on behalf of that brokerage firm will be required.
Inactive Status: If you do not plan to work for a brokerage Firm immediately, you may apply for an inactive license and will not be required to provide the completed Sponsoring Broker Statement form.
