1. Eligibility Criteria:
· Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, community groups, local businesses, and school group or programs.
· Initiatives must establish and promote tourism and/or recreation. Priority will be given to initiatives that also enhance the living experience of Kane County Residents.
· Collaborative initiatives involving partnerships between multiple organizations may apply.
2. Grant Amount:
· The maximum grant amount per initiative is $5000.
· Applicants are encouraged to request only what is necessary for the successful execution of their initiatives.
3. Focus:
· In establishing and promoting tourism or recreation, initiatives should have a community-driven focus and propose activities that recognize and/or contribute to the overall well-being of Kane County.
· This may include, but is not limited to, community programs, sports tournaments, cultural events, and other projects that enhance community life.
4. Financial Reporting:
· Applicants must provide a detailed budget outlining how the grant funds will be utilized.
· A post-event financial report is required to account for the use of grant funds.
5. Review and Selection Process:
· Grant applications will be reviewed by the Kane County Commissioners and county staff.
· Awardees will be contacted by Kane County staff to discuss further details and provide additional support or guidance as needed.
