Routines – A Key to Positive Behaviour
Routines are one of the most effective behaviour management strategies in preschool. A structured and predictable daily routine helps children feel safe, secure, and confident. When children know what will happen next, they are more likely to stay calm, cooperate, and follow directions.

At school, we use routines like morning greetings, circle time, snack time, clean-up, and goodbye rituals to guide children smoothly through their day. These consistent patterns reduce confusion, prevent challenging behaviours, and encourage responsibility and independence.

Parents can also support positive behaviour at home by setting simple routines for bedtime, mealtime, or playtime. Clear and consistent routines create a sense of stability, help children transition easily between activities, and promote a happy, balanced learning environment both at school and at home.
