Basic life skills at an early age
Teaching basic life skills at an early age is crucial for helping children develop independence, responsibility, and self-sufficiency. These skills lay a strong foundation for their future success and well-being. Here are some essential life skills to introduce to children at an early age:
1.Personal Hygiene:
Teaching them how to wash their hands properly.
Brushing teeth and maintaining oral hygiene.
Bathing and grooming routines.
2.Dressing Themselves:
Encourage them to choose their clothes and put them on independently.
3.Basic Cooking:
Simple tasks like spreading butter, making sandwiches, pouring milk, etc (under adult supervision, of course).
4.Cleaning and Organizing:
Tidying up their toys and belongings after play.
Assisting with simple household chores like setting the table or dusting.
5.Time Management:
Creating routines and understanding the concept of time through activities like setting a timer for tasks.
6.Money Handling:
Introducing the value of money and simple concepts like saving and spending.
7.Social Skills:
Teaching basic manners, like saying "please" and "thank you," and sharing with others.
Encouraging them to communicate their feelings and needs effectively.
8.Safety Awareness:
Recognizing dangerous situations and knowing what to do.
Learning emergency contact information.
10.Basic First Aid:
Teaching them how to clean and dress minor cuts and bruises.
When and how to call for help in case of accidents.
11. Respect for Others:
Teaching empathy and kindness towards people and animals.
Remember that teaching these skills should be age-appropriate and gradual. Start with simple tasks and gradually increase complexity as the child grows and develops. Make the learning process fun and engaging to keep them motivated and excited about acquiring these important life skills.

92% of boys and 97% of girls will lose interest in STREAM if they are not immersed before 5th grade.
STREAM
Soluble and Insoluble:
Little learners are naturally curious. They naturally want to know more, go one step further, and explore something new. Learners often have questions and think a bit more outside the box. They want to test their ideas, plan new ideas, and determine why they worked or didn’t.
Nursery learners explored soluble and insoluble substances during their STREAM sessions. They observed that sugar, honey and salt are soluble in water. Mud, sand and oil are insoluble in water. They investigated how certain things appear, and then disappear when added in water.

On average, you encounter 300 surfaces every 30 minutes, exposing you to 840,000 germs.
Germs - Germs run away
To keep our hands clean we use soap. Learners were given a tray filled with water, and some glitter powder was sprinkled on it. The glitter powder sat down in the water. Then learners were given liquid soap to dip their fingers. They dipped their fingers in soap and again put the finger in water. The learners saw the glitter getting separated from the water. Hence they got to know when we wash our hands with soap the germs run away.
