VISUAL ARTS
Nursery- Topic: Elements of Art – 2D Geometrical Shapes
Our Nursery learners explored the Elements of Art through 2D geometrical shapes in an engaging and hands-on experience. They were introduced to familiar shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles, observed their features, and identified them by name. Learners then explored wooden shape pieces, arranging, joining, and assembling them in different ways to create imaginative forms such as houses and buildings. They also used popsicle sticks to create 2D shapes, experimenting with lines and combining them to form different geometric patterns. This experience strengthened shape recognition, spatial awareness, visual discrimination, fine-motor coordination, problem-solving, and creative thinking. It also encouraged learners to explore how simple shapes and lines can be combined to create meaningful forms, making their first experience with geometry joyful, creative, and meaningful.
Our Jr. KG learners explored the fascinating world of Sand Art through a sensory and creative experience using a light tablet and fine sand. Following a teacher demonstration, learners gently spread the sand across the illuminated surface and used their pointer fingers to create lines, shapes, patterns, and familiar objects. They enjoyed observing their creations appear and transform as they moved the sand and experimented with new designs. The open-ended activity provided opportunities to explore texture, light, movement, and mark-making, while developing fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination, concentration, sensory awareness, and creative expression. Through this hands-on exploration, learners discovered that simple materials can be transformed into meaningful artwork, encouraging curiosity, imagination, experimentation, and confidence in artistic expression.
Sr. KG-Topic: Object Drawing
Our Sr. KG learners explored Object Drawing through careful observation and creative expression. They observed familiar objects closely, identifying their shapes, sizes, lines, details, and basic forms before representing them through drawings. Learners experimented with different strokes to create outlines and details and added colours to make their artwork expressive and visually appealing. The activity strengthened observation, visual discrimination, hand-eye coordination, fine-motor control, concentration, and spatial awareness. It also encouraged learners to interpret what they saw and represent it creatively, developing confidence, attention to detail, and artistic expression. Through this experience, learners discovered how everyday objects can become meaningful subjects for art, strengthening their ability to observe, interpret, and express the world around them through drawing.
