Classroom Connection
Creating a classroom connection for young learners involves fostering a supportive and engaging environment. Utilize interactive activities, encourage group discussions, and incorporate hands-on learning experiences to enhance their understanding. Establish clear communication channels with both students and parents to ensure a collaborative learning community.
Nursery
English
The teacher introduced the sounds of /w/ and /z/ through various methods, including phonic sound recognition, Jolly Phonic songs, storytelling, and visual aids like flashcards and charts. Kinesthetic learning is encouraged by having learners finger trace the letters in the air.
The teacher added diverse activities, such as tracing the letter 'z' in foam using an ice-cream stick and forming the letter 'w' with open-ended resources. Recapitulation involved worksheets related to the sounds /w/ and /z/, which helped learners distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters by colouring with red and blue. Additional practice included tracing slanting lines and the letter 'Ll' on art paper using crayons. This comprehensive approach aimed to engage learners in different ways to ensure better recognition and formation of letters.
Math
The introduction of the heart shape involved showcasing various heart-shaped objects and teaching learners a heart-shaped rhyme with accompanying actions. To reinforce understanding, a shape sorting activity was conducted, requiring learners to use tweezers to pick up heart-shaped foam cutouts from a mix of other shapes.
The concept of start and stop was introduced through a game using red and green cards, engaging learners with enthusiasm. The recapitulation session focused on sequencing and counting numbers 1–7 with corresponding values. This involved an activity where learners counted objects associated with a given number. The passage emphasizes the importance of helping children apply their learning to everyday situations.
Theme
During the week, the introduction of railways and waterways was facilitated using flashcards. Learners participated in sorting activities, engaging with the categorization of vehicles associated with railways and roadways. To enhance understanding and knowledge of waterways, learners were involved in a hands-on activity of creating boats using origami paper. This practical approach aimed to provide a more tangible and interactive learning experience for the nursery kids.
Horticulture
Fruits and vegetables are essential to a child’s growth. There may be no better way to show learners the real value of fruits and vegetables than by showing them how they grow. Fruits and Vegetables are a large part of the human diet. It is what helps us stay healthy. It is important for us to know what we are consuming and what is similar and different between fruits and vegetables. Our Nursery learners were introduced to Fruits and Vegetables by showing an audio-visual. Later, they were asked to draw some vegetables on board with the marker pen and were asked to identify and name it. The session conducted was very interactive.

English
In the phonics learning environment, the letter "v" was introduced with a focus on its phonic sound. Various words like "van," "vase," or "violin" were incorporated using open-ended resources such as crayons, sketch pens, and poster colours. For letter "w" formation, engagement and enjoyment were fostered through the use of open-ended materials like clay, ice-cream sticks, straw, and sand pencils. This not only allowed learners to enhance their fine motor skills but also promoted accurate handling and placement of the materials. Activities like sand tracing served as a precursor to formal writing.
Math
Learners were engaged in writing numbers 31, 32, 33, and 34 in their math notebooks, promoting understanding of the numerical system. To reinforce this knowledge, learners also drew objects corresponding to these numbers, enhancing their learning engagement. The introduction of the star shape added an element of excitement to the curriculum. In a fun and interactive learning activity, learners coloured star shapes, making the exploration of shapes enjoyable. Additionally, the teachers conducted a recap of number names using an interesting activity where learners picked chits with numbers and stated the respective number names. the number name "4-Four" was introduced, contributing to the learners' numerical vocabulary. To consolidate learning, a recap of patterns was conducted through engaging activities, providing opportunities for learners to reinforce and practice their understanding of patterns.
Theme
The theme of the learning activities revolves around transportation concepts, with a focus on road traffic and water transportation. For road traffic, students were engaged in hands-on practice by creating clay models, demonstrating their understanding of different types of traffic. This activity not only reinforces knowledge but also promotes driving skills and stability.
In the context of water transportation, students learned about various watercraft, including boats, submarines, canoes, motorboats, jetskis, and ships. The worksheet activity, where students matched pictures with the correct names, served to strengthen their grasp of different forms of water transportation.
Literacy Circle
Sight Word Search: The teacher asked learners to circle every occurrence of the sight words "the," "of," and "and" in the story and learners played roles as a Word Wizard
Phonic Sound Reading: Learners read the story aloud, emphasizing the phonic sounds and paying attention to the pronunciation of words.

International business, diplomacy, education, banking, and even aviation are all conducted in English. Acquiring language skills contributes to our learner's holistic growth. During this week’s first English session, our students learned how to break down large words into smaller ones. They fully participated and enjoyed the session. Following this, students learned about different words using the diagraphs ai and ie. During the next session, the learners learned about opposite words. In the week’s fourth session, students practised the months of the year. In the final session of the week, students did a recap of jumbled words. For our students, this was a week full of learning. They utilized their time wisely and realised the sessions.
Math
The benefits of building early math skills are numerous, one of which is that developing early math skills supports general cognitive abilities and enhances problem-solving skills. It is also known to enhance reading & language skills. This week learners wrote number names for 31 to 40. The pre-math concept of ‘full and empty’ was introduced, which supports understanding the volume, capacity, and size of the container. It also enhances their vocabulary for words such as; full, half-full, nearly empty, and empty. As it is said ‘Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding.’ by – William Paul Thurston.
Theme
A theme creates a context for children to see the meaningful applications of academic knowledge and skills. When children can relate what they learn to the real world, they will understand and retain the new knowledge better. This week Information and Technology was introduced. Later recap of Verbal and Non-verbal communication was done with the help of an activity. Teaching effective communication skills to children helps them to express themselves clearly and convey their feelings in a better manner.
STREAM
During the STREAM session Nursery learners compared different shape columns like triangular, square and cylindrical by balancing the books on it to observe and analyse the strength of it.
During the STREAM session Jr kg learners designed and constructed a stable structure using paper
During the STREAM session of Sr kg teacher narrated The three Billy goat gruff story to them. Learners experimented and selected the appropriate materials for designing the soundless bridge.
Children must be taught how to think, not what to think
