As we approach the end of another wonderful academic year at Kanakia Kids, we would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the many memorable moments and achievements of our preschoolers. It has been a joyous year filled with growth, learning, and fun-filled experiences for our preschoolers. From their first days of exploration and discovery to their confident strides toward independence, we have witnessed remarkable progress in their development. We are incredibly proud of each child's accomplishments and the positive impact they have made on our preschool community. As we bid farewell to another academic year, we eagerly anticipate the adventures that await our learners in the future. We are confident that they are well-prepared for the exciting challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as they continue their educational journey. Nursery

English

Phonics is important in early childhood education because it lays the foundation for strong literacy skills later in life. Children can use phonics knowledge to “sound out” words. Children learn to recognize how sounds are represented alphabetically and identify some letter sounds, symbols, characters, and signs. Worksheet related to sound “ What’s my sound? was done, where learners had to recognize the beginning sound and color the picture. For a better reinforcement worksheet related to sound, “ The sound game. Learners had to roll the dice and play the game. Learners scribbled on paper, which resulted in the enhancement of their fine motor skills.

Theme presentation practice was taken, where learners were able to identify upper case and lower case letters by matching them correctly and knowing to produce the correct sound and its associated pictures.

Math

Practicing counting, circling numbers, coloring, and drawing shapes not only strengthens mathematical abilities but also fosters creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills crucial for a child's overall development. Learners were provided with their worksheet book to count the given objects and circle the correct number. Additionally, they were given a coloring sheet featuring a fish, which the majority of learners beautifully colored within the lines and identified the colors used. Moreover, learners engaged in freehand drawing of square shapes in their scrapbooks, demonstrating their understanding of the shape and its sides. Exploring mathematical concepts allows our learners to reflect on the profound impact of mathematics and provides an opportunity for them to showcase their acquired knowledge during events like theme presentations.

During the recent activities, learners were divided into three different tasks:

Shapes puzzle activity: Learners matched shape puzzle pieces, identifying the name of the shape and confidently speaking 2 to 3 sentences about it.
Numbers with value caterpillar activity: Learners selected a number flashcard, identified the numeral, and placed pom-pom balls on the caterpillar picture, counting accurately and understanding its value.
Color coding activity: Learners were trained to identify color circles and match them to similar colors.

The dedication and effort displayed by our learners in fruitfully completing these activities are truly commendable.

Theme

For better knowledge learners were asked to draw their favorite pet animal in their scrapbook. The learners drew their favorite pet animal as per their imagination using a crayon ,which helped them to develop their cognitive, fine motor, and creative thinking skills this kept children engaged in learning about scrapbook animals through drawing. During the theme presentation practice, learners were drilled with a few sentences related to pets, farms, and wild animals. Some learners were tasked with recognizing and categorizing the farm and wild animals accordingly.

English

Learners appear to acquire alphabetic knowledge in a sequence that begins with letter sounds followed by letter names Teaching children to blend the sounds of letters together helps them decode words by sounding them out. The process of creating words helps kids comprehend how letter symbols correspond to letter sounds.

Math

Learning math can be a fun and engaging experience. During our recent recap sessions, we focused on the concepts of heavy and light, where learners compared different objects in the classroom and identified them as either heavy or light. We also reviewed positional words such as “besides”, “below” and “above” through a center table activity where learners placed a teddy bear in different positions relative to boxes. In addition, we had a sorting shapes activity where learners sorted different shapes and played with them in their respective baskets. Learners also drew three shapes that they knew. To practice number names, learners wrote the number names from 1 to 10 without any assistance from the teacher.

Theme

We’re excited to do a recapitulation of the fascinating world of “Fur and Features” with our little ones. From furry creatures to unique physical features found in nature, our preschoolers will embark on an adventure of discovery and learning. From soft and fluffy to sleek and shiny, we’ll explore the textures and patterns of fur through activities like Learners were taught about keeping the water clean for the aquatic animals. Learners had to place the animals' faces by recognizing their body patterns. Also, they were given paper to create their own underwater world

Literacy Circle

Literacy is about constructing and validating knowledge. Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak, and listen in a way that lets us communicate effectively and make sense of the world. To enhance these skills teacher, played different roles in literacy skills. Learners played the role of creative connectors for the story ‘The Billabong’. Learners also played a role as Travel Tracer and Word Wizard for the story ‘Cat and Kitten’. Learners were energetic to play these different roles.

English

The benefit of blends and diagraph learning helps learners to identify and spell words with beginning consonant blends. The learners of Sr.kg were able to recognize the sounds that are linked to digraphs as they effortlessly solved the blends and diagraph pages in their English workbook. As they explored more, they were able to retell simple narrative stories or informational texts. They were even able to use descriptive language to explain and explore, recognize letters and letter-sound matches, and show familiarity with rhyming.

Math

Our little learners have been doing some amazing work with number names and subtraction. They have been practicing writing number names, solving subtraction sums, and even exploring backward counting from 50 to 1! Its been so exciting to see their progress and enthusiasm for math. They have been working hard and having a blast while doing it! We were incredibly proud of their achievements and can't wait to see what they will accomplish next.

Theme

Welcome to another exciting edition of our newsletter. This week we were thrilled to dive into the wonderful world of nature and share with you all the enriching experiences and learning opportunities it provides for our young explorers. In our bustling preschool environment, nature plays a vital role in fostering curiosity, creativity, and a sense of wonder in our children. From the moment they step onto our outdoor playground, they are greeted by the sights, sounds, and textures of the natural world. Whether it's digging in the soil, observing insects, or feeling the gentle breeze on their faces, our learners are constantly engaged in hands-on exploration. Throughout this week, our curriculum brimmed with nature-themed activities designed to spark imagination and encourage environmental stewardship. From role-play to gardening sessions to mind mapping, our children had the opportunity to connect with the world around them in meaningful ways. They learned about different plants and animals, explored the changing seasons, and discovered the importance of caring for our planet. It was a wonderful opportunity for children to bond over their love of nature.

Zumba

Nursery

In the nursery class, children engaged in lively Zumba sessions this week, enjoying energetic tunes like "Happy Face" and "Who Let the Dogs Out." These sessions aimed to enhance mobility, coordination, and teamwork skills through fun activities, including a passing game set to music.

Jr.kg

Zumba isn't just about dancing; it's about having fun while staying active. In our Jr. KG classes, we start with a lively warm-up song, groove to the catchy Zumba tune 'zumbazoka ', and wrap up with a fun game to boost coordination. Zumba is a fantastic way to keep your child moving and smiling!

Sr.kg

This time, it's for a Sr. KG learner's rhythmic Zumba warm-up session, followed by the energetic 'Run Run Kids Zumba' song with easy-to-follow breakdown methods. Our sessions are designed to combine fun games with fitness, ensuring an enjoyable and health-enhancing experience for our young learners.

Literacy circle

Traffic light assessment is a handy tool to help children reflect on their learning. This week learners read the story of their choice from the Fitzroy Reader Book later as a reflection of their learning, the teacher used the traffic light method of assessment to check how confident learners were in reading. Learners placed their torch light as per their understanding (on green if they could read independently, on amber if they required little assistance, and on red if they struggled to read), making the traffic light a perfect symbol to self-assess their learning.

Events

Graduation Day

"I'll spread my wings, I'm ready to fly... I'll do whatever it takes to touch the sky!" It is rightly said, "To make an end is to make a beginning." To mark the culmination of the preschool years, Kindergarten

The graduation ceremony was organized for the students of Kanakia Kids for the outgoing batch of 2023-24. The tiny tots, their parents, and teachers celebrated the progress of the young genius together. The event commenced with the welcoming of the parents. The most important part of the day — the Graduation Ceremony - started with the smart tiny tots of pre-primary dressed in graduation caps walking the stage with great pride. The principal and chief guests felicitated the students with a Certificate of Graduation, which was appreciated by all gathered. The children looked pretty in their graduation caps. The program ended with a vote of thanks.

Theme Day

On April 5th, 2024, Kanakia Kids Pre Primary hosted its Theme Presentation Day, marking the culmination of the academic year with vibrant learning experiences. Classrooms were transformed into lively centers of education, tailored activities encompassing English, Math, Theme exploration, Stream Zumba, and Art, providing Junior KG and Nursery students a platform to exhibit their understanding and confidence. Through careful planning, every detail, from engaging tasks to beautifully adorned display boards, contributed to a flawlessly executed event. The celebration not only recognized academic accomplishments but also underscored the significance of fostering a passion for learning and self-expression, showcasing the limitless potential inherent in each child.

Fortune

The Kanakia Kids Carnival, held on 12th April 2024, was a vibrant and joyful event that brought together students, teachers, and families for a day of fun-filled activities. With various games and play zones meticulously planned, the carnival provided entertainment for attendees of all ages. The Carnival not only provided entertainment but also served as a platform for fostering camaraderie and school spirit. It exemplified the school's commitment to creating engaging and inclusive events that bring the community together in celebration.

Game Zones: Several games were set up throughout the school grounds, offering a diverse range of activities. From Roll the Dice, Feed the Clown, and Drop your fortune to many more interactive challenges, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Play Zones: In addition to the traditional games, play zones were designated for different age groups, ensuring that every child had a space to engage in age-appropriate activities. These play zones featured mini train, Bouncing castle etc.

Food Stalls: To refuel and recharge, a variety of food stalls were set up, offering delicious treats ranging from cotton candy and popcorn to savory snacks and refreshing beverages. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the air, adding to the festive atmosphere of the carnival.

Live Entertainment: Throughout the day, live entertainment, including music performances, dance routines, and talent showcases, captivated the audience and added to the excitement of the event.

Overall, the Carnival was a resounding success, offering a memorable experience for all who attended. Through a combination of engaging activities, delicious food, and live entertainment, the carnival exemplified the spirit of fun and unity within the school community.
