Helpfulness

Helpfulness in young kids plays a vital role in their overall development. It nurtures empathy, as children learn to understand and care about others' feelings. Helping others also boosts their confidence, making them feel capable and valued. It enhances social skills by encouraging teamwork, communication, and cooperation. Additionally, being helpful teaches responsibility and promotes problem-solving, as kids learn to think about how they can assist others. Overall, encouraging helpfulness creates a positive and supportive environment where children grow into kind, thoughtful, and capable individuals.

CLASSROOM CONNECTION
Learners enriched their vocabulary related to family, friends, and community while enhancing sentence structure and grammar through storytelling and picture talk. Puzzles and games encouraged critical thinking and problem-solving, while art and music activities fostered creativity and self-expression. Vocabulary-building exercises further strengthened their language skills. Their artistic journey culminated in an Art Exhibition, where they proudly showcased their creative masterpieces, celebrating their learning and imagination.

NURSERY

ENGLISH

In an engaging English session, toddlers explored the values of honesty and integrity through a story narrated with stick puppets. This activity enhanced their language, social-emotional, and cognitive skills, encouraging discussions about character actions and the importance of truthfulness. It fostered creativity, moral reasoning, and communication, inspiring learners to embody these values in daily life.

To support literacy development, learners participated in the Alphabet Stew activity, reinforcing letter recognition, writing skills, and phonemic awareness. They selected letters, identified them, practised formation, and connected each to its sound and a related image, promoting critical thinking and early literacy skills.

MATH

Learners developed an understanding of weight concepts by comparing objects and classifying them as heavy or light, enhancing their critical thinking and observation skills. They reinforced number recognition and counting skills by matching objects to numbers 1 to 9 on the board and at the Numeracy Centre, where they identified and circled correct values on flashcards. This activity strengthened their numeracy skills, cognitive development, and number association.

THEME

During recent theme sessions, learners enhanced their knowledge of wild animals through interactive flashcards, developing observation, identification, and cognitive skills. Their understanding was further reinforced through a themed colouring activity, which strengthened fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and creativity. This engaging approach promoted active participation and deepened their conceptual understanding of animal recognition.

JR.KG

ENGLISH

Learners enhanced their phonics, word recognition, and writing skills through engaging literacy activities. They focused on CVC words and expressed their creativity by drawing objects representing the letters f, b, z, w, u, and l. Solving puzzles and matching words to pictures strengthened their word association and identification.

MATH

Learners engaged in hands-on activities to strengthen their understanding of shapes, numbers, and comparison concepts. They identified and colored pentagons, learned and practiced writing number names 7 (Seven) and 8 (Eight), and explored colors by circling purple objects. Counting skills were reinforced by identifying the correct number of objects, while concepts like More/Less and Big/Small were practiced through comparison activities. Working on Missing Numbers enhanced their sequencing skills, fostering critical thinking, observation, and early numeracy development.

THEME

In the Theme session, learners enthusiastically explored the world of aquatic animals through an engaging puppet show, which creatively conveyed important lessons about marine life. This interactive experience enhanced their understanding of animal habitats and characteristics. Following this, they were introduced to polar animals, sparking curiosity and encouraging further exploration. The session fostered cognitive development, observation skills, and environmental awareness in a fun and memorable way.

Learners enhanced their language and creative thinking skills by forming simple sentences with words like "I," "you," "he," "she," and "it", exploring rhyming and describing words. They practised picture talk for descriptive skills, created imaginative picture compositions, and reviewed concepts of "this" and "that" to identify objects. Additionally, they constructed past tense sentences developing their grammar and communication. This interactive approach strengthened their vocabulary, sentence formation, and creative expression.

MATH

Learners strengthened their numerical, cognitive, and creative skills through engaging activities. Fractions were introduced using object cut-outs to explain the whole-part concept, enhancing their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Colour activities supported language development, creativity, cognitive growth, and hand-eye coordination, while also fostering joy and engagement. Additionally, learners practised backward counting and number sequencing, reinforcing their numeracy and logical reasoning skills.

THEME

Learners explored water sources natural and man-made like rivers, lakes, and rain and learned practical water conservation methods, enhancing their environmental awareness. They understood the rainy season's role in replenishing water and reinforced learning through a Venn diagram on animal habitats and a conservation worksheet. The story "The Kind Monkey" fostered empathy, kindness, and social awareness. These activities developed their critical thinking, cognitive skills, and moral values, emphasizing the importance of caring for nature.

HORTICULTURE

In the horticulture session, learners developed an awareness of plant care and environmental responsibility by preparing a diluted solution of organic shampoo and water. Using spray bottles, they applied the solution to protect plants from harmful insects. Guided by the teacher, they gained insights into the importance of using pesticides in appropriate quantities and their role in maintaining plant health.

LITERACY CIRCLE

Nursery

During the literacy circle, learners developed phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and early reading fluency by engaging with Fitzroy reading books like "My Pup and John and His Fox". They identified letters and sight words within the stories, enhancing their reading skills and fostering a love for reading through interactive and meaningful experiences.

Jr.Kg

In the Literacy Circle, learners embarked on an engaging reading journey through "The Land of Zond," where they encountered new vocabulary, including special words like "with" and "too." This activity strengthened their vocabulary building, reading fluency, and communication skills. By identifying and using these words in context, learners enhanced their phonemic awareness and language comprehension, fostering greater confidence as readers and communicators.

STREAM

Jr.Kg

During the STREAM session, learners explored the similarities between plants and animals. They discovered that both are living things that grow over time, need food, and respond to their environment. Through observation and discussion, learners developed a deeper understanding of the basic characteristics of living organisms, enhancing their critical thinking and scientific reasoning.

Sr.Kg

During the STREAM session, Sr. KG learners explored the concept of movement in plants and animals. They understood that animals move in various ways walking, flying, swimming, and crawling while plants move in response to light, water, and touch (like a sunflower following the sun). Learners actively participated by imitating animal movements and demonstrating how plants move slowly, enhancing their observation, motor skills, and scientific understanding.

ZUMBA

Nursery learners began with a marching warm-up, followed by the energetic "Spread Love" Zumba song, enhancing directional awareness and spatial skills, and concluded with gentle stretching for relaxation.
Jr. KG started with Jumping Jacks, danced to the "Quiero" rock-and-roll rhyme, learned about musical instruments, and ended with side stretches for flexibility.
Sr. KG warmed up with an energizing song, recapped the "Hooray" Zumba routine, explored instruments through "Quiero", and concluded with stretches to enhance balance.
