Little Learners in Action

This week, our young explorers engaged in exciting activities that fostered creativity, curiosity, and skill development.

🌟 Literacy Fun – Learners practised reading and writing CVC words, strengthening their phonics skills. Through interactive storytelling and picture talk sessions, they built confidence in communication and vocabulary.

🔢 Math Adventures – Children explored numbers, patterns, and shapes through hands-on activities, enhancing their logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

🌍 Discovery Time – Our little scientists learned about different animal habitats, classifying creatures as aerial, terrestrial, or aquatic. Fun crafts and discussions made the experience engaging.

🎨 Creative Expressions – Art and craft activities encouraged self-expression, fine motor skill development, and imaginative thinking.

Each activity helped our little learners grow as confident thinkers, problem-solvers, and communicators in a fun-filled environment! 🎉

CLASSROOM CONNECTION

Our learners have been thriving with enthusiasm, making each day a joyful and enriching experience! Through artistic explorations of shapes and colours, they have embraced creativity and self-expression. Collaborative play has fostered blossoming friendships and essential social skills, while music and movement have brought joy through rhythmic activities and engaging rhymes. Significant progress has been made in recognizing sight words, with learners proudly displaying their achievements on our Word Wall—a celebration of their growth that boosts confidence and motivation. February was filled with exciting activities and celebrations, making every day unique and memorable. From special events to our much-anticipated Sports Day, we are grateful for the joy of learning and growing together, witnessing our young learners flourish with each passing moment.

NURSERY

ENGLISH

During their English session, learners practised writing lowercase letters ‘a’ to ‘p’ on a three-line loose sheet. This exercise refined their letter formation—a fundamental skill that supports early literacy strengthens fine motor control and enhances cognitive development. Additionally, it helped them recognize letter shapes, improve hand-eye coordination, and build confidence, establishing a solid foundation for reading and writing.

MATH

During math sessions, learners practised writing numbers 1 to 9 on a square-line page, refining their number formation, strengthening fine motor skills, and enhancing numerical recognition and foundational math proficiency—key aspects of early cognitive development. Additionally, they revisited various shapes, including semicircles, stars, hearts, rectangles, triangles, and squares, by confidently drawing them on the board with markers and creating them on art paper. This hands-on approach reinforced their understanding and made learning more engaging and interactive.

THEME

Theme sessions provide a structured, immersive learning experience, connecting concepts to the real world through interactive activities. In this session, learners explored farm animals through the lively song Old MacDonald, followed by a structured recap using flashcards to identify animals, their young ones, homes, and sounds. This approach reinforced prior knowledge while enhancing recognition, recall, and auditory discrimination skills.

ENGLISH

Our young learners enthusiastically participated in engaging literacy activities to enhance their reading and writing skills. They practised reading playful two-letter vowel words and worked on writing CVC words. Dictation exercises further reinforced their understanding of two-letter words while strengthening their spelling abilities. Additionally, learners explored sentence formation by arranging words to create meaningful sentences. To make learning more interactive and creative, they also illustrated objects corresponding to different letters.

MATH
This week, our young learners engaged in activities to strengthen their foundational skills. They reviewed numbers 47 and 48 before confidently practising 49 and 50. In the shapes session, they identified and matched everyday objects to squares, circles, rectangles, and triangles. They also worked on patterns by drawing and colouring the next sequence, enhancing logical thinking.

THEME

Our learners discovered different animal habitats through interactive activities, storytelling, and crafts. They explored aerial, terrestrial, and aquatic animals, learning how each adapts to its environment.

Aerial Animals: Identified habitats of common and rare flying species.
Terrestrial Animals: Reinforced learning with a fun lion craft.
Aquatic Animals: Classified big and small aquatic animals and participated in Show & Tell.
Learners differentiated between habitats expressed creativity through crafts, developed storytelling and public speaking skills, and strengthened logical thinking through classification activities.

ENGLISH

We had a productive month strengthening key language skills through interactive learning. Learners enhanced their writing with descriptive words, improved fluency through sight word exercises, and built phonics skills with digraphs. Picture composition fostered creativity, while singular and plural nouns expanded grammar understanding. These concepts were reinforced through dynamic activities, promoting continuous language growth.

MATH

During the Math session, our learners have made impressive progress in math, mastering counting money up to ₹500 and applying their skills to real-life scenarios like saving money. Their mathematical journey expanded with an exciting introduction to fractions! Through engaging activities and play, they explored sharing and dividing, building a strong foundation for fraction concepts. These hands-on experiences enriched their learning while fostering curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking.

THEME

Fostering a strong bond with nature is key to raising future caretakers of our planet. Learners explored essential environmental concepts, including the uses of air and sources of water. Through interactive lessons, they discovered the importance of clean air and water conservation in protecting Earth’s ecosystems. Hands-on activities like mind mapping and worksheets allowed learners to visually express their understanding of plant uses and air’s role in daily life. These engaging experiences nurtured their awareness, inspiring a generation committed to caring for our planet.

HORTICULTURE

Horticulture fosters curiosity, responsibility, and a love for nature in young learners. As part of this, they sprouted by soaking pulses, adding water, and tying them in a muslin cloth. The next day, they eagerly observed the sprouts, gaining a deeper understanding of plant growth, patience, and responsibility. This hands-on experience enhanced their sensory exploration, observation skills, and early scientific thinking.

Literacy Circle

Our young learners explored "The Bus Stop", understanding its role in daily transportation. Through Picture Talk, they enhanced communication, observation, and vocabulary skills, connecting images to real-life experiences. Activities like circling three-letter words strengthened word recognition, while story retelling developed sequencing and storytelling skills, making learning both engaging and fun.

EVENT

Annual Sports Meet

Sports Day is an essential part of a learner's educational journey, fostering teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness while promoting camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Our learners recently embarked on an exciting Animal Adventure-themed Sports Day, showcasing their energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The little ones participated in a thrilling drill and marched past, marching with pride, waving their props, and displaying their best animal moves. They also demonstrated their flexibility and balance by performing various yoga asanas on mats. Additionally, they enthusiastically participated in various fun-filled activities, designed to promote physical development, coordination, and teamwork. Our little adventurers gave it their all.
