Storytelling is a powerful tool in early childhood education, nurturing cognitive, emotional, and social development in preschoolers. Engaging narratives capture young minds, making learning more enjoyable and meaningful.

📖 Language and Communication – Listening to stories enhances vocabulary, comprehension, and expressive skills, laying a strong foundation for communication.

🌟 Imagination and Creativity – Stories spark curiosity and creativity, encouraging children to think beyond the ordinary and develop problem-solving skills.

💡 Cognitive Growth – Sequencing events, predicting outcomes, and recalling details improve memory, attention span, and logical thinking.

CLASSROOM CONNECTION

Our little learners have been busy exploring, discovering, and growing every day! Here’s what we’ve been up to this month:

🖌 Creative Explorations – From finger painting to craft projects, children expressed their creativity while developing fine motor skills.

🔢 Playful Math – Through hands-on activities like counting games, shape sorting, and pattern recognition, we made early math concepts fun!

🎵 Music & Movement – Singing, dancing, and rhythm-based activities helped improve coordination, listening skills, and self-expression.

🌿 Nature & Sensory Play – Outdoor explorations and sensory activities nurtured curiosity, teamwork, and a connection with the world around us.

🤝 Social & Emotional Growth – Circle time, sharing activities, and group play fostered friendships, empathy, and communication skills.

NURSERY

ENGLISH

In English sessions, learners confidently recited the alphabet and reinforced phonemic awareness. They focused on sight words to build recognition, fluency, and comprehension, strengthening early reading skills. The Picture Talk activity encouraged observation and verbal expression, enhancing vocabulary, comprehension, and communication skills through farm scene discussions.

MATH

Learners discovered the colour pink by identifying it in their surroundings and observing its creation through a mixing activity, enhancing curiosity and colour recognition. They explored "fat and thin" and "in and out" through movement-based learning, improving spatial awareness and gross motor skills. Engaging activities like rhymes, clay formation, and worksheets introduced the semicircle shape, strengthening fine motor skills, problem-solving, and shape recognition.

THEME

This week, learners explored pet animals, their young, sounds, and habitats through interactive flashcards, boosting curiosity and environmental awareness. A guessing game enhanced comprehension, reasoning, and critical thinking skills. At the creative centre, learners drew their favourite pet animals, promoting self-expression, fine motor skills, and imagination.

ENGLISH

Our young learners revisited the alphabet from Aa to Zz, enhancing letter and sound recognition through writing practice and interactive activities like 'Look at the Picture and Say the Word' and 'Fill in the Missing Vowel.' They also practised writing simple words to boost early reading skills.

PICTURE TALK

In Picture Talk, learners observed animals, built vocabulary, and formed sentences to improve speaking skills. The 'Roll the Dice and Say the Sound' activity added fun, while a drawing session focused on letters S, A, T, I, P, and N, reinforcing letter recognition creatively.

MATH

Over the past two weeks, our little learners engaged in interactive activities to enhance their math, colour, and pattern recognition skills. They explored numbers 41 to 48 through hands-on counting, placing objects in baskets, and practising number formation in their notebooks.

Observational skills were strengthened as they identified and circled mistakes in worksheets. Colour recognition improved through sorting red, blue, green, and yellow objects, with a focus on distinguishing red and green. Learners created patterns using shapes and revisited the rectangle by tracing and colouring it yellow. A centre table activity reinforced number sequencing as learners identified and placed missing number flashcards on a number line.

THEME

Learners eagerly explored the topic of animals and their habitats, with a special focus on terrestrial animals. The introduction sparked curiosity and enthusiasm, making the lesson both engaging and enjoyable while deepening their understanding of the natural world. Through interactive discussions and activities, they developed critical thinking and observation skills, enhancing their ability to classify animals based on their habitats.

ENGLISH

Our little explorers have been embarking on thrilling learning adventures! They enthusiastically played "This or That" games, discovering opposites like Big/Small, Fast/Slow, and Happy/Sad, strengthening their conceptual understanding and critical thinking. They also explored spatial awareness through the "Here and There" activity, using vocabulary such as "in," "out," "up," and "down" to describe locations and positions.

MATH

This week, our preschoolers joyfully explored numbers 1 to 100, practiced number names, and reinforced addition and subtraction through hands-on activities. They also discovered the vibrant colour maroon, expressing creativity through themed art projects. These activities enriched their numeracy, literacy, fine motor skills, and cognitive development while fostering curiosity, confidence, and creativity.

THEME

This week, our Sr. Kg learners embarked on an exciting journey into the animal kingdom, exploring herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. Vibrant flashcards sparked curiosity, helping children visually connect animals to their diets—whether a lion eating meat or a cow grazing on grass.

Interactive worksheets reinforced learning through hands-on classification activities, making the experience both educational and fun. Engaging in discussions encouraged learners to share insights and relate their discoveries to the world around them. Their enthusiasm and joy in learning made this exploration truly enriching.

LITERACY CIRCLE

Jr.Kg

We revisited The Sick Dog story, reinforcing keywords and vocabulary through a fun review activity. Learners re-read words like “next,” “tells,” “stand,” and “gold,” while recalling terms such as “buff” and “got.” They also expressed their favourite moments from the story through creative drawings, showcasing their understanding and imagination.

Sr.Kg

In the literacy circle, learners explored digraphs such as ch, sh, th, ar, and er, practising reading and writing words with these sounds to boost their phonics and spelling skills. They also delved into adjectives, learning to describe people, places, and things, which supported their language development and expressive abilities.

HORTICULTURE

This week, our Sr. KG learners dived into horticulture through hands-on experiences that deepened their connection with nature.

Farm to Table: They explored the journey of French fries, learning how potatoes are cultivated and discussing healthy eating habits.

Planting for Health: Students planted carrots and radishes, discovering organic farming techniques and the benefits of growing their own food.

A Snail Surprise: A curious snail visit sparked excitement, allowing children to observe and learn about its role in the ecosystem.

These experiences nurtured curiosity, responsibility, and a love for nature. We look forward to more explorations that inspire young minds.

MUSIC

This week’s music class was filled with energy and focus! We began with dynamic body and vocal warm-ups, honing breathing, tone control, and vocal range. Students revisited their songs with enthusiasm, refining details, enhancing expression, and improving rhythm and stage presence. This engaging practice strengthened their vocal skills, confidence, and musicality.

ART

Over the past few weeks, our young artists have been passionately preparing for our Annual Art Exhibition. Through engaging and creative projects, they explored the fundamental Elements of Art—line, shape, color, texture, space, value, and form.

Using a variety of materials, the children painted bold and expressive masterpieces, sculpted imaginative creations, and experimented with color blending to discover new shades. They explored how lines convey movement and how textures add depth to their work. Each lesson not only enhanced their artistic abilities but also nurtured their confidence and self-expression.

GIGI’s Birthday Celebration Week and STREAM Exhibition

Our school recently hosted a week-long celebration leading up to GIGI’s birthday, filled with engaging activities that fostered creativity, teamwork, and curiosity among our young learners.

Monday, 10th February 2025 – GIGI’s Birthday Countdown
The excitement began with a birthday countdown chart, where children added stickers each day. A heartfelt discussion on GIGI’s best qualities—kindness, gentleness, and helpfulness—encouraged students to reflect on how they could embody these values. “Morning Wish Time” became a special moment for students to express their love and admiration for GIGI.

Tuesday, 11th February 2025 – Letter or Card Making for GIGI
Students poured their creativity into making birthday cards, drawings, and heartfelt letters for GIGI. A “Mail for GIGI” box was set up, allowing children to deliver their thoughtful messages.

Wednesday, 12th February 2025 – GIGI’s Adventure Hunt
A thrilling scavenger hunt led students to GIGI’s favorite spots around the school. Giraffe-themed surprises were hidden throughout the classroom, sparking joy and excitement among the participants.

Thursday, 13th February 2025 – GIGI’s Birthday Song Practice
Students prepared a special birthday song for GIGI, with some even creating their own rhymes and chants. Their enthusiasm and creativity shone as they rehearsed for the big day.

Friday, 14th February 2025 – GIGI’s Curious Questions
Mystery boxes filled with intriguing objects inspired children to think like scientists. Engaging discussions followed as they asked curious questions and explored possible answers. The day ended with a GIGI-themed photo booth, lively music, and a fun “Giraffe Dance” session.

Saturday, 15th February 2025 – GIGI’s Birthday Celebration & STREAM Exhibition
The grand celebration featured a delightful birthday event for GIGI alongside the STREAM Exhibition. Students proudly showcased their innovative STREAM projects, demonstrating their learning and creativity. The event was a resounding success, bringing together joy, knowledge, and a sense of community.

This wonderful week not only celebrated GIGI but also fostered curiosity, kindness, and collaboration among our students, making it a truly memorable experience for all.
