Every day in preschool is filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and grow. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, music, art, and play, our young learners are building essential skills that will support them throughout their educational journey.As children explore their world, they develop confidence, creativity, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Whether they are sharing with friends, experimenting with colours, singing rhymes, or discovering new concepts, each experience nurtures their curiosity and love for learning.

At our preschool, we celebrate every milestone big and small and create a joyful environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. Together, we are laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Our classroom is filled with meaningful conversations, joyful discoveries, and moments that bring our learning community closer together. Learners are encouraged to confidently express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every voice is heard, valued, and respected. Through engaging interactions, active listening, and genuine care, we continue to build strong bonds of trust with our learners. NURSERY

ENGLISH

This week, learners were introduced to the phonics sounds /t/ and /p/ through engaging multisensory experiences such as letter recognition, sound association, picture matching, flashcards, air tracing, and tear-and-paste activities. Creative art experiences, including a palm-print pineapple and sponge-dabbing tree, reinforced sound recognition while enhancing fine motor skills and creativity.

Children also practised rainbow tracing of the reverse C-curve pattern to strengthen pencil control and pre-writing skills. To instil positive values, the story "Max Learns Responsibility" was presented through puppets, making the learning experience enjoyable and meaningful. Reflective discussions encouraged children to understand and practise responsibility in their everyday routines.

MATH

Our young mathematicians explored Number 2 and its value, along with the colour Red, through hands-on learning experiences including flashcards, object counting, air tracing, interactive board activities, and guided worksheets. These activities strengthened number recognition, counting skills, colour identification, and pre-writing readiness.

The week concluded with an enjoyable recap of numbers, colours, shapes, and the concepts of big and small through rhymes, games, and worksheets, helping reinforce previously learned concepts.

THEME

Learners enthusiastically revised the parts of the body through songs, action rhymes, flashcards, and interactive games. By identifying and matching body parts, they enhanced self-awareness, visual discrimination, and body recognition skills.

The week also introduced the five sense organs through engaging flashcards, rhymes, and videos. Children explored the functions of each sense organ and reinforced their understanding through workbook activities that developed observation, memory, communication, cognitive, and fine motor skills.

JR.KG

ENGLISH

Language and literacy activities strengthened learners' listening, comprehension, communication, and early reading and writing skills. Learners listened to the stories The Five Sense Organs Team and Linda's Clean and Tidy Day, followed by interactive discussions and recap sessions. A picture talk on personal hygiene promoted healthy habits and self-care.

In Literacy, learners practised writing the letters t, p, i, and n, reinforced letter-sound recognition through drawing activities, and learnt the sight words the, to, no, my, by, he, we, and me, while revising I, is, it, in, and if through a fun clay activity. These experiences enhanced letter-sound knowledge, sight-word recognition, fine motor skills, and reading confidence.

MATH

Learners explored the colours yellow, green, and blue, and identified the triangle and semicircle through engaging activities, including a creative jellyfish craft. They practised writing numbers 3 to 8, explored the concepts of hot and cold and happy and sad, and reinforced counting by drawing groups of 1, 2, 3, and 4 objects. These experiences strengthened colour and shape recognition, number sense, observation, logical thinking, and emotional awareness while building confidence in early mathematical learning.

THEME

Learners explored the five senses by learning about the senses of taste and touch through hands-on activities and workbook exercises. They were introduced to feelings and emotions, participated in creative self-expression activities, and learnt about personal hygiene, cleanliness, and personal safety, including identifying trusted adults. These experiences developed observation, communication, emotional awareness, self-expression, decision-making, and fine motor skills while nurturing healthy habits, responsibility, empathy, and safety awareness.

SR.KG

ENGLISH

Learners explored the long vowel /ā/ sound through interactive activities, strengthening their phonemic awareness, listening, and critical-thinking skills. They were also introduced to CVC 'e' words using colourful charts and flashcards, enhancing their blending, decoding, and word-recognition abilities. Recap activities, writing practice, drawing, oral drilling, and worksheets reinforced CVC 'a' and 'e' words, while building vocabulary, reading fluency, spelling, and communication skills.

MATH

Learners explored the concepts of left and right, top and bottom, and identified the circle and sphere through engaging games, activities, and workbook exercises. They also practised backward counting, number writing using tens and ones, number names, and missing-number activities, strengthening number sense and logical thinking. Colour-mixing activities introduced the colour orange, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and fine motor development.

THEME

Learners discovered the amazing human body by exploring the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, bones, muscles, and blood through hands-on activities, videos, discussions, flashcards, and workbook exercises. They reinforced healthy eating habits by writing vegetable names and singing a lively rhyme. Creative drawings, journal work, and the puppet story "Our Busy Internal Organs" encouraged observation, communication, confidence, and scientific inquiry.

CIRCLE TIME/ACTIVITY

Nursery - This week, our young learners engaged in meaningful Circle Time experiences that encouraged healthy habits, physical well-being, and positive values. Through interactive discussions on healthy and unhealthy food choices, along with conversations such as, "What did you have for breakfast?", children developed an understanding of the importance of nutritious eating. Daily affirmations like "I am happy," "I am grateful," and "I love nature and take care of plants" nurtured confidence, gratitude, empathy, and environmental awareness, helping children build a positive mindset and caring attitude.

Jr.Kg - Circle Time began with warm-up exercises and stretches that promoted coordination, flexibility, and gross motor development. Learners then participated in a guided meditation to develop calmness, concentration, and self-awareness, followed by positive affirmations that encouraged confidence, kindness, resilience, and a positive mindset. These daily routines supported learners' physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Sr.Kg-Learners participated enthusiastically in engaging activities that encouraged creativity, confidence, teamwork, and independent thinking while strengthening their communication, problem-solving, and motor skills. These experiences enhanced their ability to collaborate, express their ideas, and apply their learning with confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

HORTICULTURE

Learners observed plants before and after watering to understand the importance of water for healthy growth. They also explored how rain supports plant growth and identified the basic parts of a plant, including the roots, stem, leaves, flowers, and fruits. These hands-on experiences enhanced observation, curiosity, environmental awareness, and responsibility towards caring for plants.

Learners also explored the importance of rain in helping plants grow and learnt about the functions of roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits through interactive discussions and matching activities. These experiences enhanced observation, environmental awareness, and problem-solving skills.

READING PROGRAM

Nursery - Our little readers enjoyed the story "A Fat Cat" using the Fitzroy interactive reading application. They listened attentively, identified familiar words and illustrations, and actively participated throughout the session. This engaging reading experience strengthened listening skills, enriched vocabulary, encouraged early literacy, and nurtured a lifelong love for books.

Jr.Kg- Learners enjoyed reading "Ann and Mal" from the Fitzroy Reader, building confidence in word recognition, pronunciation, and reading fluency. They reinforced their phonics and vocabulary through Word Skills Sheet 1FX and participated in the "Good Ears" listening game. These activities strengthened listening, attention, phonics, vocabulary, and early reading skills.

PLAYLAB

Learners enjoyed hands-on, play-based experiences with a variety of toys and manipulatives, fostering creativity, imagination, communication, collaboration, fine motor development, and social skills in a joyful learning environment. These engaging experiences enhanced their problem-solving abilities, independent thinking, and confidence while encouraging active exploration and meaningful learning.

STREAM

Nursery

During the STREAM session, Nursery learners had an exciting time participating in a Force and Motion activity. They learned about push and pull forces and explored different objects through hands-on activities, discovering how various objects influence motion. Learners also recapped the concepts of man-made and natural objects and applied their understanding by solving a related worksheet.

Jr.KG

Learners explored the concept of force as a push or pull by testing the motion of different objects and classifying them as rolling, spinning, or sliding. They also observed rocks with different textures using a magnifying glass, identifying details such as cracks, patterns, and colours. This hands-on activity enhanced their observation, sensory, and descriptive skills while introducing early scientific concepts.

Sr.KG

The teacher engaged learners in a Community Building activity, where they explored important places in the community such as hospitals, schools, fire stations, and post offices. Learners discussed the importance of each building and learned to identify them through their unique symbols, such as the red cross for hospitals and the letter symbol for the post office. This activity helped learners connect community symbols with the helpers and services they represent, strengthening their understanding of the community around them.

MUSIC

Nursery

Our little learners happily sang "Friends, Friends 1, 2, 3," discovering the value of friendship through fun actions and music. The interactive session helped them develop rhythm, coordination, confidence, and social interaction while enjoying every moment together.

Jr.KG:

Jr.KG learners enthusiastically learned the Clean Up Song, using music and actions to understand the importance of healthy hygiene habits. The lively session encouraged active participation, enhanced musical skills, and reinforced the importance of personal cleanliness in a fun and memorable way.

Sr.KG

Sr.KG learners were excited to explore the song "Hobbies," learning about different interests through singing and expressive actions. The activity nurtured creativity, musical expression, rhythm, and confidence while encouraging learners to appreciate and share their unique hobbies.

ART

Elements of Art – Line

Nursery learners explored the element of art – Line by discovering different types of lines, including straight, curved, zigzag, wavy, and dotted. Through engaging hands-on experiences, children traced a variety of lines using crayons, markers, paint, finger tracing, yarn, and sensory materials.

These creative activities strengthened fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and early pre-writing abilities while encouraging curiosity and artistic expression. We encourage families to continue the learning at home by helping children identify different lines in everyday objects and practise tracing them using safe, child-friendly materials.

Topic: Art History – Introduction to Artist Piet Mondrian

This week, our Jr. KG learners were introduced to the renowned Dutch artist Piet Mondrian and his distinctive artistic style. Through observation and discussion, children explored how Mondrian used straight black lines, geometric shapes, and the primary colours, red, yellow, and blue, to create balanced and eye-catching compositions.

Inspired by his work, learners created their own Mondrian-style artwork by drawing straight lines to form geometric shapes and colouring selected sections with primary colours. This enriching experience enhanced fine motor skills, shape and colour recognition, creativity, and fostered an early appreciation for art and famous artists.

YOGA

Nursery
Topic: Lotus Pose
Learners enthusiastically practised the Lotus Pose, improving their sitting posture, flexibility, concentration, and calmness. The peaceful yoga session encouraged mindfulness and helped learners relax while participating with joy.

Jr. Kg
Topic: Prayer Pose (Namaste Pose)
Learners joyfully practised the Prayer Pose (Namaste Pose), enhancing their balance, concentration, posture, and mindfulness. The session also reinforced the values of focus, respect, and self-discipline in a calm and positive environment.

Sr. Kg
Topic: Bow Pose (Dhanurasana)
Learners enthusiastically practised the Bow Pose (Dhanurasana), improving flexibility, strength, balance, and concentration. The engaging yoga session promoted healthy posture, body awareness, and confidence while making fitness enjoyable.

ZUMBA

Nursery

Our young learners had a fun-filled and energetic Zumba session, starting with an exciting warm-up. They practiced movements to "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and learned a new song, "If You're Happy and You Know It," through a step-by-step breakdown. The session concluded with a fun game that encouraged active participation and joyful movement.

Learners enjoyed an energetic Zumba session beginning with a warm-up and a revision of the "Freezer Song" routine. They were then introduced to the new song "Run Run" and learned the movements through a step-by-step breakdown, building rhythm, coordination, and confidence while having fun.

Sr.KG

Sr.KG learners enjoyed an energetic Zumba session that began with a fun clap activity and warm-up. They revised the "Happy Face" routine and learned the "Nobody" partner dance through the breakdown method, developing coordination, rhythm, and teamwork. The session ended with a lively "Jump, Jump, Pose" partner game, promoting quick thinking and active participation.

EVENTS

Van Mahotsav Week – Healing the Earth Through Greener Initiatives

Our preschool learners enthusiastically celebrated Van Mahotsav Week by exploring the importance of trees and their role in protecting our environment. They actively participated in meaningful activities, including planting seeds and saplings at home with their families, creating colourful posters and slogans on the theme "Save Trees," and taking part in a Van Mahotsav Awareness Rally within the school premises. The celebration concluded with an engaging story enactment by the teachers, inspiring learners to care for nature and understand the value of tree conservation through an enjoyable and memorable experience.
