At our SMAC Championship meet, teams are allowed to enter three individuals per event, as well as one relay team per event. In addition to those three individual athletes, any other athletes who have met the qualifying standard are allowed to compete. Those standards are below.

Starting this year in Michigan, athletes can qualify for the MHSAA State Championship in three ways.
1. BY FINISHING FIRST OR SECOND OVERALL IN AN EVENT AT THE REGIONAL MEET
2. BY MEETING THE STATE QUALIFYING STANDARD AT THE REGIONAL MEET
3. BY MEETING THE EARLY QUALIFYING STANDARD AT AN APPROVED INVITATIONALÂ
