Formed in 1981, the establishment of our club is credited to our founding member Marama Whanarere who following an entry into the annual Māori Netball Tournament in 1981, sought interest and entered the club's foundation team into the Netball Wanganui Association (NWA) competition in 1982.

Originally named Kaiwhaiki Saturday Netball Club, the "Saturday" was dropped in the early 2000s with the playing of Premier netball moving to Monday nights and in 2020, the club became an incorporated society.
