Celebrating our Alumni this Centenary Year and Beyond
We want your alumni profile, your school stories & recollections! Tell your story 🙂
We’re collecting alumni histories and recollections that we will share with the school, community and alumni throughout this special year.
One way in which we will share these precious memories will be as part of our "Where Are They Now" feature shared in the schools community news and online (Website & Facebook).
We are also underway with the creation of a commemorative Centenary Book. This book is included as part of all Centenary Event Registrations, so all registered guests will receive a copy which we are so excited about. It is going to be a spectacular 200 page historical piece. Go to our Registrations section for more information on this and to register.
We hope to gather many stories from 1924 - 2024 along with photos and historical information as part of our Centenary celebrations. We hope that this will continue long after the Centenary as a way we acknowledge our past, and recognise the journeys our students take once they leave Kaipara College.
There is no prescribed format or way that alumni can share memories. We are happy to work with you in a way that suits best.
It could be:
Sharing via an in person interview/chat
Sharing via a written piece that you've (as a family group or individual/s) have put together
Sharing photos and short written recollections that are special to your time at school
Sharing via our online questionnaire
What we receive from each alumni will shape how we use the history shared. While we can not promise to include everything shared we can say we will do our best to include your submissions in the book or across our Centenary communication channels as much as we can. Let us know if you'd like to see any pieces we create before we publish. Please be aware that your stories may be shared via: Website, Social Media, Centenary & School Newsletters and community publications supporting the promotion of the 2024 Centenary.
We welcome nominations for alumni we should approach to be part of this collective piece for the book or our Where Are They Now alumni profiles.
Email nominations or register your interest to centenary@kaipara.school.nz

Help us to spread the news about the Centenary with our alumni
Ngā mihi to the many voices and hands helping us to spread the news about our Centenary celebrations.
We want to ensure as many of our alumni as possible are aware of this special occasion. You can help by forwarding on newsletters, sharing an invite to the celebrations, putting up a poster in your community or sharing a shout out on your social media. To help us reach alumni who are not online we welcome suggestions of organisations and groups we can connect with to spread the word. centenary@kaipara.school.nz
