Above are pictures from our Challenger Mission Field Trip. Students took roles in a simulated Space Station & Mission Control room. Our mission was to rendezvous with Comet Haley.

August 2019
Students have began their first big project of the year. Their goal is to use the STEM Engineer & Design Process in their groups to research, design, and then build an Arcade game out of recycled materials. After building their first prototypes they will test each other's games out so to provide feedback for one another and improve their games.

For the first couple of weeks of the school year we have been doing a lot of Get-to-know each other activities, team building, and setting up our classroom culture expectations.

As a class we decided on Collaboration Expectations that we would all abide by when participating in collaborative activities. We did our first mini Engineer & Design activity in groups.
Our goal was to build a tower made of spaghetti, tape, and string that can stand tall but also carry the weight of a large marshmallow.
