Kaafu AEC

Kaafu Atoll Education Centre which was established in 11th December 1981 by the President of Maldives, His Excellency Mr. Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. The school was established by the aid of Japanese government and started giving education up to grade 3 and special classes for adults, levels 1 and 2. In 1983 the school started grade 4 and in 1984 the school introduced grade 5. In 1984, the population of the school was 77 students. The school commenced Middle School education in 1987. With recognized difficulties for students to receive secondary school education, the government approved this institution as a secondary school in 1997 and started pre-grade 8 classes. Kaafu Atoll Education Centre first participated in London GCE O’level and Secondary School Education in 2001 with 12 students.
