The parish of St. Elizabeth, affectionately known as the “breadbasket of Jamaica,” has always been a place of strength, generosity, and deep community spirit. Today, that same spirit is being tested in unimaginable ways. In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, countless families have lost their homes, their livelihoods, and in some cases, their loved ones.
Once-green hillsides in Siloah, Windsor, Aberdeen, Pullet Hall, Quick Step, and Benlomonds now stand bare. The agricultural heartlands of Williamsfield, Thornton, Union, Balaclava, Roses Valley, and Parish Ground—where crops once flourished and communities thrived—are submerged, flattened, and lifeless. Where there was abundance, there is now scarcity.
Across the parish, families are sleeping without roofs over their heads, exposed to the rain and the cold. Women and girls are suffering in silence, unable to access clean water or essential hygiene items, and facing the indignity and health risks of period poverty. With food supplies destroyed, many face hunger, dehydration, and disease. In some areas, the presence of unburied victims has added an unbearable layer of grief and created serious public health dangers for survivors.
Yet, amid the devastation, the resilience of St. Elizabeth remains unbroken. Communities are helping each other, sharing what little they have, and holding on to faith that help will come.
Your support will make that help real.
This relief effort is dedicated to providing food, clean water, shelter materials, medical aid, and hygiene supplies to those most in need.
100% of all donations go directly to the purchase and delivery of urgent supplies for victims of Hurricane Melissa.
Every contribution—no matter the size—helps restore dignity, comfort, and hope to the families of St. Elizabeth. Together, we can rebuild not just homes, but lives and futures.
Join us in standing with St. Elizabeth.
Your compassion today will help restore the heart of Jamaica tomorrow.
