Gallery Night!

Your Hosts: Ms. Asher, Mr. Mervine, Ms. Nolan, and Ms. Staskel

Welcome to the 12th Annual Philadelphia Academy Charter High School Gallery Night: A Celebration of the Arts. This year's celebration is much different as it's virtual due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. We knew we still needed to celebrate our students' dedication to the Arts over this school year. We are incredibly proud of the amazing artworks and compositions they have created this year both in the classroom and at home. They have a lot of spectacular pieces that need to be put on display and recognized. The students, faculty, and administration are excited to share their talents and works virtually with the school community.

We think you will find the elective programs offered to our students as a special opportunity to explore various fields of interest alongside their traditional studies, thus giving the students a well-rounded experience to prepare for career opportunities or a head start in their higher education. Thank you for participating and in supporting the creativity and talents of the Philadelphia Academy Charter High School students. We congratulate the students on their hard work and effort it took each and every one of them to create meaningful works.

As you navigate through this site, you will find the best examples of each project, but before you go on that journey, please take a moment to admire the Best of Show artworks. These are an example of when a student has chosen to go above and beyond the requirements of a project in order to create something astounding. Please enjoy the show!

Thank you to John and Maximus for collaborating together in the Tech 2: Graphic Design class, using PhotoShop to develop the winning Gallery Night logo to be used for this website banner. Originally their campaign was to consist of multiple cohesive parts: logo, invitation, poster, t-shirt, and program to help promote our 12th Annual Celebration of the Arts. Typically the Gallery Night Campaign winners would have their posters printed, t-shirts worn by hundreds, and their campaign displayed on the main boards as hundreds of our student artists alongside their family members and friends entered the gymnasium. Unfortunately the stay-at-home order prevented the students from hosting our Gallery Night in the high school gymnasium. We feel these talented graphic designers still need to be acknowledged. So congratulations to John Nguyen and Maximus Patchell for your efforts in producing exceptional work. You both have a strong worth ethic and an eye for graphic design.
