Gillogly & Resendez Kindy Superheroes

Welcome to Gillogly & Resendez Kindy Superheroes!

We are so excited to have you in our class. This year will be one full of adventure, learning, and plenty of surprises.

Updated Kindy Superhero Supply List

We have streamlined our original supply list to support flexibility for in-person and remote learning, as needed. Student learning materials, such as writing journals and math kits can stay home for unplanned or unexpected remote learning time. It is important that student devices come back and forth between school and home each day as we never know when there will be a closure due to a positive COVID case. As always, THANK YOU for your patience and flexibility.

Kindergarten Remote Learning & In-Person Schedule

starting Tuesday, January 19th

Please note that there are changes to the Remote Learning Schedule Real-Time Google Meet times.

☎️ Communication

We will be using the Seesaw FAMILY app for parent-teacher communication this year. If you are a returning Ladd Family, this is replacing Bloomz. The QR code that was in your child's login packet, is for this app and will not work on your student's Seesaw app on their iPad.

Almost all of our families are military families, so feel free to share this QR code with grandparents or other important family members who do not live nearby. I shared my girls' Seesaw family QR codes with their grandparents to they could see their work and encourage them.

The best and quickest way to get in touch with Mrs. Gillogly is using the Seesaw FAMILY app. Your messages go right to my phone, so I can see the message and quickly know that you need a response. Email and phone (Phone: (907) 451-1700 x 37016) work well too, but these methods sometimes take me a little longer to check during the busy school day. I will do her best to respond to your messages within 24 hours.

📋 Student Work

Your child will receive remote lessons and work using the Seesaw CLASS app.

Traditionally, this app allows students in the classroom to share student work with families at home. This year, we are starting out with roles reversed in that you and your children are giving us at school a window into your child's learning. Using this app will allow us to shift more smoothly from in-person to remote learning, as needed this year.

A little about Mrs. Gillogly

I am originally from Massachusetts and grew up between Massachusetts and Southwest Florida. I received my formal education through Norwich University (B.A. in History and International Studies, 1999), University of Phoenix (M.A.Ed. in Education/Curriculum & Instruction, 2010), and University of Alaska Fairbanks (Post-Baccalaureate Elementary Education Licensure, 2018).

I am a retired U.S. Army officer. I worked with communications networks in this previous life and had the privilege to live all over this country and overseas as well as serving with some amazing people from all over this country. I love how unique and diverse we are as a nation.

My husband Ryan retired in July 2019 after 22 years of military service and is currently training to become a police officer for University of Alaska Police Department. We have two active girls, Natalie (7 th grade) and Aoife ( 2nd grade). After all of our travels in the military, we have decided to make Fairbanks our home.

I like to spend time with my family, camp, read, knit, play with our dogs, and enjoy Alaska's beauty. I enjoy learning new things and LOVE being in the classroom.

This is going to be a great year together!

A little about Mrs. Resendez

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I attended Texas A&M University where I earned my B.A. in Psychology and met my husband. After I graduated, we got married. I began subbing in the local school district, which ignited my love for education. About year later, he commissioned with the Army and we were on our way to Fort Wainwright! Shortly after arriving in Fairbanks, I began working in Kindergarten at Ladd where I have been for 3 years now.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, Oliver. I spend my time reading, making things, and getting outside and exploring Alaska. I absolutely love Kindergarten and am so excited to start on this adventure with this new group of Kindergarteners.
