Single-day Breakdown Example


Using Google Classroom to deliver/upload lessons this is an

EXAMPLE of what a day might look like.


9:30-10:00 Read to Self & Respond

  • Students read self-selected material and do a journal entry to reflect.

  • Teacher may want to meet with students to conference.


10:00-10:30 ELA Teaching session (S&A)

  • Whole group lesson and instructions 10 -minutes

  • Small Break out groups

    • Some students log off and do Smarty Ants/Read Live etc. -15 minutes

    • Some students go to ThinkCentral and read/listen to this week’s story – 15 minutes

    • Teacher works with small group on skills (sentence structures, re-reading) - 15 minutes

  • Whole group closure activity/check in - 5 minutes

  • Meeting in small groups online with teacher



BRAIN BREAK 10:30-10:45


10:45-11:30 Math Teaching session (S&A)

  • Recorded lesson and instructions 10 -minutes

  • Small Break out groups

    • Some students log off and do Math task related to today’s lesson. -15 minutes

    • Some students go to envision (Pearson Realize) and read/listen to this lesson’s video – 10 minutes

    • Teacher works with small group on skills (adding, subtracting etc.) - 15 minutes

  • EnVision Online Quick Check - 5 minutes


11:30-12:15 Differentiated small group instruction (S&A)

This could be specific students working on specific skills – not always all online everyday.

  • Math interventions – IXL, envision, PinPoint Math,Prodigy etc.

  • Reading Interventions – Journeys, Smarty Ants, Read Live etc.

  • Independent Writing tasks in google classroom

  • Meeting in small groups online with teacher



LUNCH 12:15-12:45


12:45-1:15 Specials rotation (S&A)

  • Library, Music, PE, Counselor etc.





1:15-1:45 Science/Social Studies/Art (S&A)

  • This can change daily or weekly depending on your schedule. Great place to do integrated content.

  • Social studies/Mapping lessons with new Social Studies materials

  • Students watch Science videos on Mystery Science, Nat Geo, PBS that are linked to your Google classroom or SeeSaw


BRAIN BREAK 1:45-2:00


2:00-2:30 Student Independent Work: Time to complete daily assignments (A)

  • Teacher dedicated time for student support, check in, feedback and individualized support

  • Office Hours
