How will my child be assessed in PE?
Self-Assessment Participation Rubric:
Students will use a self-assessment participation rubric. This accounts for the 3 daily points in PE that you will see reflected in PowerSchool at the end of each day that your child has PE. Skill assessments, quizzes, and checks for content understanding may also take place periodically, more regularly for 3rd-5th grade.

What are the consequences of classroom disruptions?
I will make every effort to make PE fun and engaging, however in order to do so, students are expected to follow the classroom rules/expectations: Respect myself, Respect Others, and Respect This Place.
Disruptive students interfere with my ability to teach effectively. These behaviors can require large amounts of time and attention and stopping the lesson to address such behavior, takes away from the valuable time needed to instruct the rest of the class. If a child is being disruptive in PE, the student will face a hierarchy of sanctions/consequences:
Strike 1- Verbal Warning
Strike 2- Participate in a refocus/reset time to be able to rejoin the class as a safe and engaged participant.
Strike 3- Time out for the rest of PE class. Communication home and a possible Discipline Report.
If behaviors continue to be disruptive, students will be referred to the behavior aide and/or principal, and parents/guardians will be contacted.
