The faculty and staff at Kenbridge Elementary School is devoted to the continuation of student learning during this quarantine. We are providing the materials in the link above to offer our students 5 weeks of engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Thought this material is not graded, it is important for our students to continue their learning and be exposed to the provided grade level content to be prepared for their return in the upcoming school year.
KES families,
Before now, none of us have navigated the unchartered waters of meeting the educational needs of students during a viral pandemic. As we work together to get through this unprecedented event, we wanted to thank you for pulling together to help our school community overcome this challenge.
Kenbridge Elementary School is providing resources to promote the continuity of learning while students are not at school. In addition to paper packets being sent home, this website has been created to provide families with academic resources organized by grade level. These resources are provided as a support for continued learning efforts, but they do not come with requirements for completion, timelines, etc. We do not expect students to be able to complete assignments at 100% capacity. This is our effort to offer support, but we hope that you choose to foster the academic and emotional development of your children in ways that fit your family’s needs during this difficult time. No matter how you approach this, above all else we want our students to feel safe, loved, and encouraged. During this time of uncertainty, please feel the flexibility to be a parent, not a teacher. This situation may allow for opportunities to unwind, connect with family and friends by phone, text, or email, or to enjoy unstructured family time. We want what is best for you, parents and students.
Please let our students know that we miss seeing their smiles and receiving their hugs. Let them know we love them and believe in them! As you need to, feel free to reach out to your teachers or the school!
We want to spread the word that you are not alone, our community is our strength even when we are connected virtually. This is an opportunity for all of our students to learn resilience from the adults around them. We are very grateful for your continued support.
With love,
Mrs. Shell and Ms. Matthews
