Physical Product Evidence

I was taught how to use a scanner that scans teeth instead of having to do an impression.

I am measuring out the powder to make an impression with.

I am adding the amount of water needed for impression mixture.

I am mixing the alginate for the impression.

I am putting the alginate into a tray fitted for a child's mouth.

This is the alginate inside of the tray.

The tray is placed in the child's mouth and the teeth leave an impression once removed.

This is the impression of the child's teeth.

I am making another mixture that will turn into a mold of the child's teeth.

I am filling the impression with the stone and it will fill all of the areas of the teeth.

The mold is filled into the impression and has to take time to harden completely before removing it.

After the mold is hardened, I removed it from the impression and I placed it onto the machine that makes the clear retainer.

The plastic that is placed on the machine is heated up and placed on the model. I waited for the vacuum to remove all of the air bubbles out of the plastic.

I am cutting off the excess plastic around the model.

An orthodontic assistant is showing me how to trim the clear retainer so it will not hurt the mouth.

I am trimming off the rest of the plastic around the retainer.

I am using a buffer to smooth the rough edges of the retainer.

This is the buffer that smooths the retainer's edges.

This is my final result of making a clear retainer.

I am removing rubber bands off of the model's brackets.

I am placing new rubber bands on the model.

This is my final result of placing new rubber bands on the first phase braces.

I am making sure the fixed retainer is in the correct place after the orthodontic assistant helped me place it on.

This is what a fixed retainer looks like, it is a wire glued to the backside of the teeth to keep them from shifting.

I am shadowing an orthodontic assistant, she is setting up the X-ray for a new patient.

I am shadowing an orthodontic assistant while she removes 3-D models from the printer.

These are the models rising from the 3-D printer.

I am placing dirty instruments into the sterilizer.

I am making clean trays for incoming patients.
