Background

Archimedes was born in Syracuse,Sicily in 287 BC. When he was young , he traveled to Egypt to study mathematics. He lived in the city of Syracuse where he solved problems and created inventions for the king. Archimedes also invented or made many machines used in war. For example, he made better catapults. His famous last words were “Don’t disturb my circles!”. He died in Syracuse, Sicily in 212 BC.
