Your task over the next two weeks:
Learn as much as you can about the history and ecology of Morven and, with a group or on your own, come up with a way to bring in members of the public for an educational or recreational experience (maybe both!). This idea will be entirely your own and will be considered by the staff at Morven.
You will be given a reflective journal to write down your thoughts, ideas, and revelations throughout this project. There will be specific guidelines to follow for your entries so help keep you on track.
At the end of the two-week immersion at Morven Farm, we will be hosting at Potluck and Pitch Night at the Meeting Barn. This event will welcome in members of the community including your family, professors, and interested members from the Charlottesville/Albemarle area. You will present your idea on a poster or tri-fold board and guests will have the chance to read about your idea and consider it as a potential project for Morven in the future.
Use your time wisely and make sure you are creating the highest quality work.
Students will be gathering scientific and historic information about Morven Farms in an effort to creatively impact the expansive and vibrant space.
The UVA Foundation was the recipient of this gift and has a goal of using it for educational and charitable purposes. There are employees from the foundation who work at Morven and will collaborate with CPCS students.
