As we all know, the world is in need of our help now more than ever. Whenever Global Warming comes up people always just seem to shrug it off. As if it were a joke, or if it was fake. But I think we can all see clearer than ever, it's a very real problem with very real consciences. This issue of the Bigger Picture covers a literally heated topic on everyone's mind.
The Start
One of the most interesting ways a fire was started, was by a gender reveal party! One expecting couple in Yucaipa, California used fireworks to reveal if they were having a boy or a girl. After the pyrotechnics went up into smoke it quickly changed to flames causing a chain reaction, setting the forest ablaze. Other ways the fires started in Santiam Canyon Oregon was by trees falling on power lines. The broken power lines then proceeded to spark uncontrollably setting the surrounding trees on fire.
Do your part
Here are some things you can do to help avoid wildfires from happening in the future. Always double, and triple-check that you've doused any flames before leaving them unattended. Look out for the environment. Take a commute to work/school or ride a bike. Anything to lower the carbon footprint we leave will help out tremendously with global warming. All in all, take care of the earth so others can enjoy what we have.
