Where we get information is called a source. A source can be a book, a magazine, a newspaper, a tv program, a radio program, a person, a website or many other options.
Citing a source means that you write down and share where you found the information.
1. To give credit to the original author or creator.
2. So that our readers and audiences can check that the facts we present are accurate and reliable.
3. So that our readers and audiences can find the information if they are interested in learning more or digging deeper.
4. So that we (as authors or speakers) don't forget where got our information in case we need more.
