9th-12th:
Starting in 9th grade, South Dakota students develop Personal Learning Plans (PLPs), which they update each year until graduation. A PLP helps students:
Set academic, career, and personal goals
Track their progress toward graduation requirements
Prepare for post-secondary opportunities
Through this guided process, students identify courses, activities, and career pathways that support their future aspirations. PLPs encourage ongoing reflection and adjustment, so each student’s plan remains aligned with their evolving goals.
