The following students will be attending the SDSU All-State Chorus workshop in Brookings on Thursday, October 8th: Payton W, Sara O, Kaylee V, Sawyer L, Halle L, Sophie J, Gabe L, Nelson T, and Tyler A.  Students should bring music and folders, a pencil, a water bottle, and $20 for lunch and snacks. The bus will leave Woonsocket at 6:30 am and Sanborn Central at 6:45 am. Please arrive 5 minutes early. The bus will return to Sanborn Central at 2:15 pm (pick up VB players) and Woonsocket at 2:30 pm (pick up VB players.) 

Please note the Following Change to the VB schedule:

October 13th, ILP will be JV and Varsity only. No JH game. The JV game will start at 6:00pm, Varsity to follow. The games are at Sanborn Central. 

October 26th, JH will play ILP at SC at 6:00pm. There will only be one JH game.  

The reason for this change is ILP JH has music festival on October 13th.  

Ryan Munoz Martinez for his senior project is writing and directing a play. The play is called Double Booked. It is a story about 2 siblings who get into a Thanksgiving mess in their new B&B. The sign-up sheet is by the office if interested. Tryouts will be held sometime the week after the fair.

Build Dakota

Build Dakota will be at the school on Oct 13 at 11:00am for any students, parents, and community members who want to learn about the Build Dakota program. It's a great time for parents to ask questions, community members can learn how to be a program partner, and students can learn about all the benefits of the program. Any 10-12th grade student can attend. We're opening up visiting college reps at school to sophomores because of how early Mitchell Tech allows students to apply. Some programs fill very quickly!

From October 1–November 30, students can apply to South Dakota’s public universities and technical colleges at no cost.

A note for Fast Track students: If a student has already activated their Fast Track Admission to a South Dakota public university, they do not need to submit another application to that institution.

Woonsocket Hall of Fame

The Woonsocket Hall of Fame was established to recognize and help preserve the heritage of Woonsocket High School by honoring those who excelled in Athletics, Activities and/or any other General accomplishments for their outstanding achievements or contributions to the Programs at Woonsocket High School. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of ethical conduct, moral character and/or sportsmanship.

Nominees for the Hall of Fame may be nominated for the following Criteria, Guidelines for Eligibility and Categories: ALUMNI, ATHLETE, ACTIVITY, CONTRIBUTOR, TEAM, EMPLOYEE, COACH, or GENERAL.

Nomination forms can be found on the Woonsocket School Website www.woonsocket.k12.sd.us or in the main administration office at the Woonsocket School. This year's nomination forms must be returned to the admin office or emailed to Supt. Rod Weber- Rod.Weber@k12.sd.us by 3:30 pm on September 20 this year with no exceptions. The nomination committee will list new inductees to the Hall of Fame each year. More information on the Woonsocket Hall of Fame can be found on our school website.
