Summer Grab and Go Meals

May 29th-August 7th there will be summer grab and go meals at the Huron Middle School. Pick-up is Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:15 - 12:45 and is free for children ages 1-18. Click here for registration form and additional information.

📚The Summer Reading Program, “Unearth a Story,” will begin June 2nd and run every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30–1:30 p.m. through July 23rd. Please sign up early so enough supplies can be ordered for all participants! Sign-up forms have been sent home with students, and extra copies are available at the library. 🏐Little Blackhawk Volleyball Workouts🏐

Hi, my name is Waverley Hagman, and I am putting on a Little Blackhawk Volleyball workout for Grades 3rd -6th (26-27 school year) as part of my Senior Project. The workout will teach them basic volleyball skills including passing, setting, serving, and hitting. The proceeds are going to the Blackhawk Volleyball Fund.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Sports Camp 🏈🏀⚽🏃🏐

June 16th-19th. Grades 7th-12th (fall 2026). There are camp scholarship opportunities available. This is an all-sport camp with many opportunities. Click here to register. If anyone has questions, please contact Mr. Schmitz in Woonsocket. This will be his 4th year coaching at this camp. 

🏋️This summer, we are offering our speed and strength workouts at 6:30 Monday-Thursday, ending by 8:00am. This will be for boys and girls entering grades 7-12 next year. It will be at no cost, but we ask for a registration form be turned in. These forms can be picked up and returned to Mr. Deinert or Mr. Schmitz.

Central Electric Youth Excursion

Central Electric is once again offering the South Dakota Rural Electric Youth Excursion bus trip for high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors this summer! Students who live in Aurora, Brule, Buffalo, Davison, Hanson, Jerauld, Miner or Sanborn County are eligible to apply for this unforgettable experience.  

From July 20-22, participants will stay at Bismarck State College. During this time, students will have the opportunity to gain leadership skills while they make friends and gain a new understanding of electricity. They will tour the Great Plains Synfuel Plant, Freedom Coal Mine and Antelope Valley Station Power Plant to see where South Dakota’s power is generated.

One student per county (based on home address) will be selected to attend. Complete the online JotForm application to be considered for Youth Excursion: https://form.jotform.com/260824576598069

Applications must include a written recommendation from a teacher, 4-H advisor or FFA advisor explaining why the student is a good candidate for the trip. Please reach out with any questions. The deadline to apply is June 1.

Woonsocket Hall of Fame

The Woonsocket Hall of Fame was established to recognize and help preserve the heritage of Woonsocket High School by honoring those who excelled in Athletics, Activities and/or any other General accomplishments for their outstanding achievements or contributions to the Programs at Woonsocket High School. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of ethical conduct, moral character and/or sportsmanship.

Nominees for the Hall of Fame may be nominated for the following Criteria, Guidelines for Eligibility and Categories: ALUMNI, ATHLETE, ACTIVITY, CONTRIBUTOR, TEAM, EMPLOYEE, COACH, or GENERAL.

Nomination forms can be found on the Woonsocket School Website www.woonsocket.k12.sd.us or in the main administration office at the Woonsocket School. Nomination forms must be returned to the admin office or emailed to Supt. Rod Weber- Rod.Weber@k12.sd.us by 3:30 pm on September 20 this year with no exceptions. The nomination committee will list new inductees to the Hall of Fame each year (This will be the 1st year).  More information on the Woonsocket Hall of Fame can be found on our school website.
