T.F. Riggs High School Library

Our Mission

The Pierre School District Library mission is to equip Pierre School District students and staff with the 21st Century skills and resources needed to become successful lifelong learners and readers.

T.F. Riggs Library is a great place to study, read, create and collaborate.

Looking for a good read? The library has about 16,000 print and audiovisual materials available for circulation. Students can check out up to 4 items at a time, and materials circulate for a four week loan period. New materials are added to the collection year round, so check back frequently for new reads. Also be sure to ask Mrs. Kringel for help locating the perfect book. She loves to read and recommend titles. On this website, you can find booklists of recommended reads and a link to our school's card catalog and SORA/Overdrive eBook collection.

Need a quiet place to read? Want to collaborate with others on a project? T.F. Riggs Library has many cozy reading and study spots including a reading/study room donated in the memory of Michael Isenburg, Class of 1960. Up to 3 students may use the room at any one time, and a sign in sheet is available at the circulation desk.

Need research help? Swing by the library Monday-Fridays between 7:30-3:30 p.m. and get research assistance from Mrs. Kringel, a certified school media specialist with 32 years of experience working and assisting patrons in libraries. Can't make it in during open hours? Contact her via email at pam.kringel@k12.sd.us. On this website, you will also find links to many electronic research resources perfect for homework and papers that can be used 24/7.
