Your goal is to try to create a 3-4 page animation that all goes together and makes sense. When page 1 finished, it will go to page 2 and so on. You can do it about anything you want. Try to be creative. A link below is included for some helpful hints.

Kindergarten--Go to Scratch Jr. on the iPad. We are going to work through 8 different short programs and explore how the scratch jr. app works. You will be putting blocks together and trying them out to see what they do. You will connect 3-4 blocks and you might have some blocks where you will have to change a number at the bottom of the block. What does each block do? Can you predict what will happen? What will happen if you change the numbers at the bottom of the block?
1st Grade-- Setting the scene. You will be again using Scratch Jr. With this project you will be listening to a story online and then creating a page within Scratch Jr that goes along with the story. After listening to the story, open up Scratch Jr. and create a page. If you are looking for ideas, here are a few to help you out on creating a page....pick one!
How does the story begin? What is the problem that is happening in the story? How do the characters solve the problem in the story? How does the story end?
2nd Grade--Now you should have a good idea of how Scratch Jr. works. Last time you created a project called Racing Cars. This time you will be creating a project called getting the animals to the barn. You will get two animals and need to be able to get them into the barn. Click on the link below for directions.

Kindergarten--Go to Scratch Jr. on the iPad. Last month, we started on it and a goal was to familiarize yourself with the app. In Scratch Jr., we use code blocks to create a program telling characters what to do. This month, we are going to do an activity called Code-A-Friend, which uses the same concept. You will be giving code to a friend to guide them from one place in a room to another. They can move either forward, left, right, or backwards while trying to avoid other objects in the room. You can use the arrow sheet that we created, or you can have your students make their own.
1st Grade-- Go through the intro to programming...Part 2: Scratch Jr. Basic. This will have more advanced activities that build off of the tutorial from last month. Click the link below for a follow along video. Use the iPad and the Scratch Jr. app to go along with the video. Then you can follow the Google Slides link under Scratch Cat and the Butterfly.
2nd Grade--Review Scratch Jr by going through the intro to programming...Part 2: Scratch Jr. Basic. Click the link below for a follow along video, which will build on what we did in December.
