Hello! 

My name is Alexa Phillips. I am the 6th Reading and Language Arts teacher at Tri-Valley. I also coach the 7th grade girls volleyball team. I am very excited for my roles this year within the Tri-Valley school district. 

I am originally from a small town in northwest Iowa. After high school, I attended the University of South Dakota where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Reading. During my college career, I was very active in various clubs and organizations including Adopt-A-School. Within this program, I had the opportunity to assist classroom teachers with various tasks and spend time with students. During my senior year of college, I spent a full year student teaching in the Sioux Falls area and absolutely loved it! In the spring of 2022, I graduated from USD, and so, this will be my fourth year teaching! 

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy traveling and trying new things. This summer, I had the opportunity to visit Daytona Beach, Florida. I am also working on my master's in education. I will graduate with that this December!
