Hi there! My name is Sami Van Asselt, and I am so excited to start my 8th year of teaching and continue coaching softball here at Tri-Valley. Here is a little bit about me!
- I got married to my husband, Austin, in October 2020! It was the best day ever. Austin and I have a goldendoodle, named Boca! She has an endless amount of energy and love.
- We have a daughter named, Palmer, who will be 2 in September. She is the happiest little girl and brings so much joy into our lives! We are also expecting another baby coming this fall at the end of September and we cannot wait!
- Childhood: I grew up in Crooks, South Dakota and attended Tri-Valley for my K-12 schooling. It has been so fun teaching with some of the amazing teachers that taught me.
- Education: I graduated from SDSU with my Bachelor's Degree in May 2019. I received my Masters Degree for Curriculum & Instruction from Walden University in June 2022.
- During my free time, there are many things that I enjoy filling my time with. I love to live an active lifestyle and keep myself busy. On a relaxing day I love to: read books, watch Netflix, play card games, or spend time with my family (especially my nephew!). On my more ambitious days, I fill my time with: working out, playing sports (volleyball, basketball and softball), water sports, and snow skiing with my husband.
