This week's spelling words all have the r-controlled "bossy r" spelled er. We will take our spelling test on Thursday, May 2nd. If we are not ready that day, we will take it the following school day. This will be our last NEW phonics pattern. We will spend the remainder of the school year reviewing previously learned patterns.

My Math Chapter Twelve: Geometric Shapes and Equal Shares

Students should understand:

• How to identify and describe two-dimensional shapes (2.G.1)

• How to identify and describe three-dimensional shapes (2G.1)

• How to partition two-dimensional shapes into equal parts (2.G.2, 2.G.3)

What students should be able to DO:

• Choose a specific shape from a picture. Write how many sides and angles.

• Choose objects that are the same shape. Count the faces, edges, and vertices on a three-dimensional shape.

• Describe a partitioned shape. Write two halves, three thirds, or four fourths.

• Count to find the total number of shapes inside a given shape. (ex. how many squares are in the rectangle?)
