Class overview
Welcome to 8th Grade ELA! This year, we’re focused on building the critical reading and writing skills needed for high school and beyond. Aligned with South Dakota standards, our main goals include:
Reading & Analysis: Exploring diverse literature and articles to evaluate themes, main arguments, and text structures.
Clear & Confident Writing: Crafting compelling stories, research-based arguments, and essays while refining grammar and style.
Speaking & Collaboration: Engaging in meaningful class discussions, team projects, and presentations.
About me
My name is Marcis Hausman, I graduated from Dakota State University in the Spring of 2024 with my Bachelors degree in K-8 Education and have a minor in K-12 Technology. While at DSU I played football for the Trojans and met my wife Saddie.
I previously taught as a 6th grade classroom teacher in Hendricks, MN. I'm very excited to teach at Tri-Valley Middle School and to build a positive relationship with my students!
