Updated: August 2025
In 2024, I plan to begin pursuing National Board Certification in the area of Mathematics - Adolescence & Young Adulthood (AYA). My goal is to be finished in the summer of 2026. [Update: I am on track to meet my goal. In 2023-24, I completed two of four components. In 2024-25, I completed one component. I plan to complete the final component in 2025-26.]
I will continue to pursue the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics & Science Teaching (PAEMST). As you can see above, I have failed in my pursuit on three occasions. My goal is to continually improve every day. [Update: I have met my goal! I was named the 2021 PAEMST award winner for South Dakota in January 2025.]
I love presenting at conferences. My goal is to speak at the NCTM Annual Conference or Regional Conference sometime in the next 3 years. [UPDATE: I met my goal by presenting at the NCTM Regional conference in Seattle in February 2024.]
I love...
spending time with my wife and four children.
playing basketball, golf, board games, and video games.
coaching my children in their various activities.
