WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?

This week: (5/6-5/8)

This week, we will finish reading the first book in the popular series of books "The Magic Tree House"  by Mary Pope Osborne, "Dinosaurs Before Dark". It is my hope to introduce the kids to this series so that they will want to continue reading it on their own. Students will be working on a reading journal for the book as we progress through each chapter. Additionally, we will be reviewing and applying concepts learned this year throughout the week.

The last day of core reading groups is WEDNESDAY, MAY 8th!

WOW! This year flew by!!

Anchor Text for This Week:

Essential Question:

Target Skill:

Grammar:

Phonics:

Spelling Words:

Words to Know (Sight Words):

(Students do not need to know how to spell these words, but they should be able to recognize them and use them in a sentence.)

Writing:

SIGHT WORD LISTS: Students should begin working on sight word lists that were given at conferences. The lists are meant to be done at each students' own pace...when they can independently read the words, sign the page with the parent signature space and send it back to school with them. I will listen to them read it and get them the next list. This will be of great help with their reading fluency! I appreciate your help with this!!
